Milk Percents

I was wondering if anyone knows why milk on the shelf with 1% is expiring sooner than the 2% milk? I have been trying to drink less fat, but can't drink the whole container in 2 days.
Milk is really expensive and costs more than soda, so you would think it would be longer dated. The no fat milk is not an option, as I don't want to add chocolate to make it taste better.

The 1% milk seems to expire quicker because there are less people buying it. Since there are fewer people buying the milk it sits on the shelf longer. Around here the whole milk has the most time before it expires when I go to the store because it is what most people buy for their young kids.

I think your right, as a lot of parents are buying whole milk for their children. I'm the only person I know that didn't buy whole milk for my daughter when she was a child; however, she can't drink milk with Lactose. Thanks for the reply.

Maybe the fat does something to help keep it fresh. I wouldn't know because I refuse to drink anything but whole milk. Anything less looks like chalk water to me.
