It hasn't even started raining here. We are in the middle of a big heat wave. It was over 40 degrees celcuis for 5 days straight. Another 2 days of 39 degrees, now a break today of 29.
Tomorrow it will be 41 & the same again on thursday.
We are in an 11 drought.

we had an unusual amount of rain last month - barely a day went by without at least some rain. The muck gets tiresome, but the rain this time of year helps to recover from the lack of it in other months.
I hope you get a drying out spell soon. but remember, too much sunshine makes a desert.

This area is a desert. The rain is back. My driveway is caked with mud and the sides of the house now are also. Its a mess and looks like we have a small hole in the roof. This time it appears the weather is going to be costly for my family. Thanks for the reply.

well, i'm not in a flooding area. but i don't have a car during the day (since my hubby takes it to work) and i walk my son and 2 nephews to pick my eldest son up from school. So far, its been raining mostly at night. I just don't like it when it rains when i need to pick my son up. but i love the rain. California needs it like hell.

I just watched the news and several cities are not looking good. I'll admit I'm always scared when I see large amounts of water and people on their roofs or in a tree. My city isn't in that situation. North of me is really looking bad.
I feel bad for the small city in Nevada its flooded. Thanks for the reply.

Yes and No.
Yes,this is the time when rain happens seeing as this is WINTER and rain usually fall during the winter or cold months.
No, I was not expecting the rain to fall as long and hard as it has in my city. It rained all day yesterday and just began raining this afternoon.

Our streets have signs telling us to go around in low areas. I'm hoping for a dry week, so the water can go down before we get more. Thanks for the reply.

Hang on! It's raining (not too common in CA, except, maybe in the North) and you just bought extra WATER? And it's a Fishmomma who is saying 'Here is to staying dry!' LOL!
Seriously, you do need the rain to fill the reservoirs so that Californians can have productive orange and avocado groves - not to mention green lawns and clean clothes and dishes. Then there has to be water there to fight the fires you have every summer.
I do agree that too much water all at once can be depressing and problematic but PLEASE thank God for the rain!

well, I don't live there and it hasn't flooded in my country such that people are trapped for a long long time. so i guess I'm prepared for the type of rain I've been getting.
which is the seasonal monsoon one. It was so lovely and sunny this morning and now it is pouring like there will be no tomorrow. with thunder and all that. sigh.
