I choose curtains... I love ruffled curtains bec it can give you modern look of furnishing styles of today. You can also give your home an atique feeling without you having to pay an antique price. how about you?

Yes, sewing curtains so so easy! I used twin bed sheets - the perfect size! you could use large size if you want. About 2 years ago I got yellow and white sheets and made a set with three curtains drawn together - one on each side and one in the middle and the white ones behind those. Then a valance with the yellow ruffle on top of a white ruffle. They turned out so nice - had lots of compliments on them! I did the same thing for my bedroom with pale sage green and beige. Again, very nice! Then I moved to a 2 bedroom apt.... no windows like that anymore, so I put each set in each bathroom and my bathrooms look so nice! And at $5 a sheet (Martha Stewart brand) I only spent about $20 total and have perfect curtains that look fantastic. All it takes is a few straight seams for the side, some hand heming (or machine if you choose) and some straight stitching for a casing on the valance, 2 expansion curtain rods (or the other kind - expansion were just cheaper and did the trick).

Oh, trust me... you can't!!! (LOL!!!) Unless you "been there done that", you can't! Those bilnds are from the devil himself!! I just moved from a house that had them on every window. I lived between 3 major freeways - on three "sides' and at the foothills of a mountain range on the other and an international airport next to one of the freeways - dust bowl is putting it mildly! I couldn't take them off the wall to take htem outside to wash them the way "they say" you are supposed to be able to so I had to clean them hanging. Gave me a hang-over! Whn I moved, I cleaned them, then pulled them closed and wrapped them with tissue paper to keep them clean for my walk through the next week. Yeah, right. I took the paper off, lowered them and they were very dusty. The landlord started to give me hassel about the "house not being clean" but I was able to talk him out of it, that tissue paper saved me! He probably knew how hard they were to clean and wanted my money to hire it done. I told him all i did, told him I had pictures and all and said, "fine, charge me and I'll take you to small claims" so he "let it go" cause I had been there four years. Blinds - hate them!!!!

I can't choose just one. I have to say both. I have a mixture of blinds and curtains in my house. And some windows have blinds and curtains.

I would have to say, blinds all the way. They are are so much neater to me. I like curtains for the old fashioned look. Maybe some drapes in a room where I would not allow the kids to play. But, blinds are also easier to clean.

Hello dear glitzypurple. In our home, we use curtains, which is our usual practice, but in our office we use blinds. No special reason, hehe.

With curtains you can be quite flexible as to the kind of feel you would want to project while with blinds you are stuck with one design. :) Anyways, I am for curtains too, and aside from that it is "wash and wear" like. :D

I prefer blinds. I don't like curtains at all. They are too hard to keep clean and they carry a lot of germs. Also I prefer blinds because they make them in so many different colors now that I like to change them about every 6 months to give my room a new look. They are easy to clean, just run them under the shower and hang them on the shower rod and let them drip dry. But you can only do this if they aren't too dirty. If they are really dirty you need to dry them or they will leave dirt spots. I wash my blinds about every 2 months. I am a bit of a clean freak so I need my house clean all the time. I hate germs.

I like curtains better. Curtains are easier to wash because you can just run them through the washer. Blinds you have dust each little strip. Plus I think curtains look much nicer than blinds. I don't like blinds, I think they are ugly.

I like curtains allot more the blinds. I used to have blinds but I hated them so much I took them down one say when I my mom was at work and made my own curtains out of sheets. I would rather have them then blinds.
