Have you ever played tennis?

January 8, 2008 8:38am CST
I took playing tennis up when i was younger, I used to set a court up in my parents back yard and played my brother. sometimes an older kid from next door would come around and it was fun playing him because he was 17ish and around the time I was 13 or so and he could never beat me. (even though he had won contests and I hadn't) Have you ever played tennis? I'm much better at badminton myself. ~Joey

I have played tennis a couple of times a long time ago with my older sister. It looks so easy but it very hard to hit the ball just right without knocking it out of bounds or off the course. I still think it is fun to try to dao and I am alot better at badminton too LOL.

I second that. My friend once bragged during senior school that the game was easy, while I was at the top end of the gym he was stuck at the bottom and couldn't beat anyone to move up.

LOL. I hate it when the ball comes and you go to hit it and miss. It makes ya feel like some kind of fool with no eyes LOL. You end up hitting nothing but air and have to go hunt that ball down when it finally lands and stops rolling LOL. I always made sure we had plenty of balls so we didn't have to go get that same ball over and over again when we miss or knock it way off course LOL. It is still very fun to try to play. I always loved volleyball the most in school and I played that along with basketball when I was younger.

Hehe. I personally hate when you hit it, but it flies away funnily. During my younger years I had the habit of hitting the person I was playing, more than I was actually getting inside the zones. That's awesome, I love basketball but I wasn't all that good from long distance. I could make the basket easily, just bounced and fell the wrong side and not in! ~Joey

The last time I played was probably back at school when I was fourteen/fifteen, I hated it but it was either a choice of that or cricket, I choose tennis the less boring of the two, I was useless at it, and we used to muck around and I don't think we played proper tennis, just used the tennis racquets as weopens or pretend light sabres (yes I was a Star Wars fan! still am!) I am not a sports person full stop.

Lol... I once saw someone through a racket when a bully got beaten, he decided to know it at the other lad. I hated when that sort of thing happened, even though it wasn't uncommon I was just thankful I was always near the top! I'm not a star wars fan, I don't recall watching it fully. I hated LOTR until I watched all three! ~Joey

I played once or twice but not so much anymore since I graduated from high school. It is a very fun sport and I will pick it up again someday when I do find time.

It is great fun. One of the reasons why I love sport is that most are addictive and fun to play. I know many who'd disagree but that's because they either don't open themselves to play or aren't very good. I think it's great for anyone :) I hope you do pick it up someday too ~Joey

I have and still do play tennis. My father is a sport enthusiast. He'd go for about any sport. I guess it must have passed along to all us kids. There's 5 of us and we all have played for our schools. All the girls in my family have a penchant for tennis. I remember when I was 4, I used to tag along with my dad at dawn to play tennis with his buddies. They'd let me sit atop the high chair to move the scores around. After a while, I'd get bored, hop down and talk to the ball boys. They were about 10 or so and so we'd play with some of the balls. On other times, when the courts aren't full, my dad would let me play. I first got my official tennis training when I was 7. It was summer and a coach was giving training sessions so my dad enrolled me. I really had fun in it and definitely loved the sport. It was only a beginner's training and I was supposed to attend the intermediate as well, but then I got sick. After I got sick, I stopped playing for like a couple of years. Focused on badminton. You don't really need a court to play those. I'd play it with my niece outside our house. Anyway, I got back into the when I was in high school. They were in need of a player so I joined. After that, it was all a blur. Everyday after school, we'd train. We compete too. And this was carried on through college as well. Till now, I pretty much adore the sport. Although, comparatively, it's really hard to choose between badminton and tennis. But my favorite sport would most definitely have to be soccer.

I have always loved the game, but never played it. Maybe some day I would. But, I have played badminton.Tennis somehow feels more interesting than Badminton, maybe because I have never played it:)

Yes, I have played tennis before, back when I was a freshman in high school, though I wasn't very good. :P I only played it because I was required to take it in my physical ed class. I prefer badminton any day! :)

I like playing tennis but I seldom play it now. As booking a tennis court isn't easy and it's also expensive. Usually we play badminton more often.

I played tennis 4 years. It was much fun. The best for me is to play in open air. I didn't play it to reach to professional level, but for the reason I just like this game. Now I don't have time for that, but I'm looking forward to resume it this summer, maybe, as there are courts close to my living place.

I guess I must have lol. In school, we were put through many sports. I was in an elite boys school so they believe in exposing us to many sports. Like you, I prefer badminton to tennis.
