When you're feeling down, what do you do to instantly cheer yourself up?

I listen to Depeche Mode and look at my hundreds of photos of them. That is instant happiness for me. They are an important part of my life, and have helped me through some rough times. They're so beautiful, and their music has been so fantastic for over 25 years... I spread the word to get them the appreciation they deserve... it feels like we support each other!

'Blasphemous Rumors' is one of my favorite songs... and 'Just Can't Get Enough' is enough to cheer anybody up no matter how down they might be!

Oh, good... another DM freak... I've been looking here for so long! I have all the albums, most of the singles, tapes, cassettes, cds, 45's, posters, ticket stubs, t-shirts... I need to add on a room! My whole family goes to concerts... last time, our granddaughter went... 3 generations and we all love'em! New album and tour proposed for late this year... have you been to a concert? They change your life... they're at their best LIVE!

Hehehe. Well, I wouldn't say I was a DM freak... but I do like them a lot. I've been to a lot of concerts but I don't think Depeche Mode was one of them. I didn't even know they were still together!!! That's amazing to me! I'll have to get hold of some of their more recent stuff then and see what they're doing now!

I don't get down too often anymore either, but when I do a walk in the woods always makes me feel better. But sometimes there's nothing for it but to just go sleep it off!

Sopping with a friend or even by myself...If you go with a friend then after shopping you can either take in a movie or go out and eat..Nothing cheers me up more than going shopping....Then i come home happy and the bad mood is out the door..

Depends on where I am and why I am down. However, it will be either listening to music (Or singing a song in my head) or watching a movie. Sometimes watching a movie really helps because it can easily help you put things into perspective. Listening to music also helps because I love music and sometimes it's just what I need to escape.

I'll go do a puzzle, work on my cross stitching, read a book or paint something. However it depends on if it's anxiety, then I'll clean clean clean. I'd have to work it off because I can't stand to be nervous with racing thoughts so I'll work my tail off to feel better. Hope you're not feeling down! Are you? Anything I can do?

i try talking with someone or doing something because if i don`t do that i begin to feel sad and lonely...left apart and it`s a truly pain full feeling...or sometimes i want just to stay in bed and cry all day...because after that i feel very relaxed...and as well very exhausted..without any power of doing anything......but i am a powerfull person and i`m not crying that frequently .but when i cry...i cry all day.... P.S. try and don`1y cry so much in a short time because you`ll kill all your neurons and you`ll make yourself a stupid person hi hi

I look for some ridiculous show on TV. If not that, I take my dog for a walk. He's the best entertainment to cheer anyone up. : )

Hi. When I am feeling down, I usually go and lay down and go to sleep so I won't have to sit and dwell on what is bothering me. I really don't have anything that instantly cheers me up. I have fed my nerves when I am sad though and it cheers me up a bit, but then again, I am trying to lose some weight also.

When I'm feeling down, I talk to my friend about why I'm depressed, and she usually pulls me out of it. I do the same for her! If I can't get to talk to my friend, I go and visit my 8 month old granddaughter - she always makes me smile and I forget my depression!

As a Zen practitioner I accept that there are going to be ups and downs. When I am down, I tend to practice zazen (meditate) on it more finding what it behind it. :-) Derek

usually when I feel down, I'd want to go out. Sometimes by myself, sometimes I need some company. Most of the time I'd go for some mini retail therapy which will make me feel good afterwards haha. Or I'd listen to music and do things that could take my mind of the depressing things. or sleep ;) .

I play a few games of Dynomite on WorldWinner, but I'm not down very often, so sometimes I have to play this wonderfully addictive game when I'm not in need of cheering up.
