How Do You Deal With Winter Boredom?

I've been off of work lately so I spend almost all of my free time during the week at home except for running errands. It's also that time of the year where I live that outdoor activities are few and far between where I live. At first it was alright but now after I get the housework and everything done that needs to be done, I'm completely bored. I take the dog for a walk to enjoy the scenery if it's not too cold or work on crafts or mylot for a while. But, now I'm running out of ideas and dying of boredom. How does everyone pass extra free time when you can't really go outside to do anything?

You sure do sound bored, alright. If I'm really bored, I'll read, watch tv, brush my animals (3 cats,1 dog), and am always finding stuff to do inside. Sometimes, thou, I'm just too lazy to do anything so I'll just sit here and play games on the puter.

I'm an outdoor person as well. Drives me nuts at times to be inside. I WAS gonna go out and start stacking the firewood that never got stacked over the summer but seems the pile is a lil bogged down for the time being. The pic shows what I'm talking about. lol Thankfully, I have several stacks of firewood between a few trees up out of the woods where it's drier.

I do cross stitch too. Do you recommend any good books? Because I also like to read. I read quite a few books over the summer but don't know of any new ones that are out. I likemysteries and biographys. Then when I'm at the library I'll grab a movie. I forgot all about them renting movies. Thanks~D

I dont deal well with winter time. I hate the cold. The only thing that I can do is play on the computer. It is really cold outside now. We have the coal stove heating us up

I deal with my winter boredom by making things like crafts. Or I will read on a rainy cold day. Or hang out with friends listening to music and watching movies.

I would definately be lost without my music. I think I could live without t.v. but not the stereo. I started on some new projects today and am really enjoying them so maybe that'll hold me for a while. I still can't wait for summer to come though so I can get back outside to my flowers and pool, LOL!~D

Make things to do. Like household chores will break the boredom. Granted it sucks but the house gets cleaned. Pull things from your cupboards that haven't been washed in eons and wash them. I do this when I get tired of the daily routines that bore me. HAHAHAHA!!

This is a really good discussion that I'd like to get some ideas from once you receive more responses. I've been bored here and there lately because I've had a few gaps in things I've been doing lately at home and even at work. Part of the problem is that I'm a procrastinator, so the things that need to get done don't get done until the last possible minute. However, if there aren't deadlines then I'm in trouble because stuff never gets done! When I'm bored sometimes I'll make a list of things to do because there are always plenty of those. I also spend a lot of time on myLot because it stimulates my thinking to respond to discussions (and make money at the same time). It doesn't get much better than that! I spend most of my spare time at home on my computer because there are always things to do on the Internet. I also participate in a select few social networking sites. I love reading, so books are always another occupation of my time. Sometimes I'll send e-mail. I'm constantly sending text and pictures messages on my phone, so that eats up my spare seconds as well.

I find that I'm quite the procrastinator as well. I don't know of any other sites on the net that are social. The only one I've ever done is Mylot. I'm with you and hope I get a variety of ideas but lately the responses have been pretty low so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Can you tell me more about the social sites you're talking about?~D
