My wife works at a Middle Eastern restaraunt. They are open till 11 p.m. on Saturdays. This coming up Friday there is going to be a private party held there by a regular customer. All the family will be working as will my wife. It will be from 11 at night till about 2 a.m. or so. There;s going to be a live band and the group has paid for an off duty Police Officer to act as a security gaurd. I have no idea what type of music. Now I don't know if I want to be there all night myself. The owner is giving her a ride home if I don't go so that end is taken care of. The owner and his family are good friends of ours as well so it wasn't a problem asking him this favor of giving Debbie a ride home after the party ends.Deb & I have plans on ASunday early afternoon so she will be very tired. I want to stay home and sleep so I will be rested for Sundays activities. Hee hee. A discussion on that is forth coming as well. Have you ever had a family member or spouse work way late into the night like this? Have you ever been to a private party like the above mentioned in a restaraunt? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

One reason I am glad my husband changed jobs is that on occasion, and way too often, he would work and extra half shift until two in the morning, then drive home a little more than a half hour from here. I did not like waiting up for him, and I did not sleep really well for waiting. No, I have not been to that kind of a private party.

I worked nights for 11 years. I went to work at 7PM and came home at 7:30AM three to four days a week. Some days I would not sleep before starting my three days on and not sleep at all till night on my day off. When I did work I did not sleep well a lot of the time I was up a lot of the day because I could not sleep. I was tired all the time. My husband worked days because he farmed. He worked out of the home so he would come in and out. We had out kids get off the school bus at the house so we did not have to worry about picking them up from school but I still could not sleep even if it was quite. I do sleep better now at night.

I hope your wife does not get home too tired, and is able to rest. Alot of people work late into the night every night actually, some rest in the day while others work in the day and then into the late night which must be exhausting I've got to say.

I wouldn't mind trying all the middle eastern food. There are no mid eastern resturants in the south of adelaide, although I think there are some in t5he north. Yes, my husband works very late when on afternoon shift. He would come about midnight, but it can be later if a missing person report is very urgent. So I am used to his late nights. I dont stay up, but then again I cant fall asleep very well when he is not in bed either. Late night parties like this? Yes, when I was in my twenties & maybe a couple in my early thirties. I am way too old now!!

yup, my spouse has worked late into the night before. I was waiting at work for him to finish so we could have dinner together. but the work got later and later so in the end i gave up and went home first. and he didn't get to eat cos the work was urgent. and finally when he got home it was close to midnight. that was a really awful experience for him because it's always horrible to have to work without eating. simply due to the pressures of time. hope this happens less often to all of us and our spouses!
