I have a sister and a brother and I am the oldest. My sister live in PA and my brother lives in a city about 10 miles away from me. For years my sister and I didn't have a relatioship but when she came here for my mothers funeral we did get along but I think that was out of necessity because I haven't heard from her since she went back home. My brother is very much the loner and even though he lives so close I have seldom heard from him and probably will never now that my mom is gone. Right now I'm feeling that it's no loss if I don't since he's been such a jerk these past few weeks. Do you have siblings? Where do you stand agewise with them? If you are an only child do you wish you did have a sister or brother and why?

I have a brother who is just about exactly 2 and a half years older than me. We used to have a great relationship. until 6 years ago when he met his now wife. She's...in short, the devil. So my brother and I rarely talk. and I rarely see my two nephews.

What is it about these guys who get married, have kids and forget about us? My brother s/o isn't a bad woman but she definately rules the roost.

I have one half brother from my Mom's side and one half brother and 2 half sisters on my Father's side. I grew up knowing my half brother from my Mom's side, but I never knew and still don't know the half brother and two half sisters from my Father's side. My Father never really talked about them or their mother, since the marriage ended bitterly. And now that I'm older I have no way of talking to him about them, since my father has since passed on some 15 years ago. I have attempted in the past to find my half brother and two half sisters from my Father's side, but all attempts have basically ended up beings failed attempts, but I still hold hope that one day I may find them, if they are in fact still alive. I'm the youngest of all the children between my Father and Mother. From what I do know I am 4 years younger than my half brother from my Mom's side. We get along really well and are fairly close though we live miles apart from each other. He lives in Arizona and I am here in Kentucky. I miss him badly some days, but do realize that we do have our own adult lives to live now.

I keep hoping that one day I'll cross paths with them, since it would be nice to know them, just for knowing sake. If a family like relationship develops, all the better, but well one can never tell how a situation like this will come about and end. I don't know if they know about me, not sure how much my Father talked to them after getting the divorce from his first marriage, since he rarely talked about it, unless he had been drinking throughout the course of the day. I keep them in my thoughts and prayers, and can only hope that it's the will of the powers that be that we meet, if not, than I know that one day we all will be together again in the afterlife.

So many people find siblings that they have never met or have lost contact with these days. I'm sure with a lot of work on your part you will be able to do the same. Who knows they may be searching for you!

I have 2 brothers and a sister, one brother is 3 years old than I, we really have not talked in 20 maybe more years. He is a narcissistic jerk. The 2nd brother is 3 years younger than I am, we talk a few times a year, we are more acquaintances then siblings. He is an odd person to say the least. He is easily offended to say the least. A few summers ago, we visited, he has 2 children, both adopted, the older of the 2 is going to be a big boy, and I asked him if he wanted to play football when he got older, my brother walked away in the park, his wife told me he does not want either of the kids to play sports, just piano, nothing else. We waited for over 5 hours, he did not return until I left. The kids now get up at 4:30 AM to practice piano for one hour each before school. Then after school they practice again for an hour. My sister is 13 years younger, we talk a fair amount and get along just fine. My son has 2 half siblings - both way older then him and 2 step siblings - within a few years of his age. He seems to have nice relationships with all of them.

My brother is odd in that once he had his daughter she became his whole life and didn't bother with anyone else. She's now 18 years old and he's always on her back for something.

I am the runt of my family. I have 5 older brothers. Yes 5. And they are all boys. Needless to say my boyfriends always got the 3rd degree when I brought them home. I get along great with my bros. They are such amazing people and they sure have taught me alot. They taught me to stick up for my own and of course taught me how to fight. Oh yes I fight like a guy. I think this also has alot to do with my high tolerance for pain. I used to get away with murder as well when we were younger. I always blamed things on them. And with me being the youngest and the girl of the family it sure worked out great. :)

I have a brother whos 2 years older than me. a sister thats 4 yrs younger, another sister thats 11 yrs younger, and another sister thats 16 yrs younger than me. we get along ok. I live in MS and they all live in CO. Its hard to see or talk to them. when we do talk though its good. I would have to say that i don't have alot in common with my baby sister. I left home when she was 2 so its been along time, and thats been hard on me to not know her like I want to. But i'm going home to see them all this summer, i can't wait.

Hi I have two brothers, one is two years younger than me and the other is 21 years younger than me. In fact he is only two years older than my eldest daughter so a very young uncle. Get on really well with both. Speak on the phone often but as all three of us live in different parts of the country only see each other a couple of times a year

My parents split up,just before my mom found out that she was pregnant with my younger sister. We are 2 years apart. We were close as kids, then we she became a teenager it all changed. She was kind of wild, while I was the exact opposite. When she turned 16,she calmed down and got married. She lives about 20 minutes from me,but we rarely talk, unless I call her.She calls me on her own a few times a year.If I leave her a message it is like she might call me back and that's a big might. And if she does it will probably be about a month later. She is not very close with the family. Her choice, but she won't admit that she isn't close to us.I have 3 half brother's and 2 half sisters.but only one half brother will communicate with me.I have never met him in person,we have called each other and he wrote to me.We didn't even contact each other till we were adults.

Yes, I have one, a sister who is 2 1/2 years older than me. We have never been close (her choice, not mine). She moved out of our mom's when she was 17 (back in 91) and I didn't see her again until 2001 at my kids' birthday party. I honestly didn't expect to ever see her again when she left in '91 and I haven't seen her since 2001. I don't have a problem with her not being in my life, though I do feel sad for my mom as my sister wants nothing to do with her. I just hope she (my sister) has enough sense to not wait until it is too late make amends with our mom.

I am an only one child for my parents. So when I was little, I was eager to have someone to play with me. So this is why I pay attention to the friendship. I like to have friends so that we can play together.

Since I was an only child only for the 2 years until my sister was born I do remember not having anyone to play with and being so happy when she was born.

I've two sisters and a brother. It is inevitable to have a brotherly or sisterly fight. BUt that is nothing if you have a strong foundation with them. We raised by our parents with thier great efforts of instilling inour minds and hearts the importance of each other. If we do have conflicts, we easily settles our differences. But majority of it, our relationship witheach other is great.

I have a brother, 5 years older and a sister, 14 years older. My brother and I used to be very close growing up, and we sort of fell out. My sister and I now have a pretty close relationship because of our father. But other than that, I don't really get along with them. I Don't feel comfortable talking about personal stuff with them 'cause they tell my mom everything.

I have one brother & he is three years younger than me. We get along okay I guess. Our relationship goes through periods off up & down. He is into "power" & doesn't like being told what to do, & he is also a bit of a racist. This makes it difficult at times for me to get along with him. I see him about 5 times each year. My husband has four sisters & one brother. One of his sisters he hasn't talked to in many years, & another one he is not that keen on.

I have 2 older brothers and we all get along pretty well. I have to say it's pretty funny though because when I was little, I was closer to Kevin who is next to me in age than I was of Timmy. Timmy and I fought like cats and dogs!! LOL We were terrible and so was Timmy and Kevin, whew they fought worse! Those two never have gotten along and yet they have a band together. Kevin doesn't know when to shut his mouth and Timmy hates to argue and will punch in a heartbeat if one doesn't shut up - like me... lol Now a days, I'm much closer to Timmy than I am Kevin. Kevin has gotten to be a city boy whereas the rest of us are country folks. He's very opinionated and loves to argue. I like Timmy, hate to argue and won't argue and will give him a few chances to shut up or he'll get decked. When we were kids, his nickname was Chatterbox. Does that tell you something? lol

what a pity! they are your closest relations. It is lucky that my older sister and me are best friends, time and time we call each other, though we havent see for a long time, we talk about her marrige and my girlfriend, her job and mine, even some political news. sometimes i even thought that the relation between me and my sister is closer than with my girlfriend.Ctrymuziklvr, i can't give you some useful advise, but i think when come to festival, give them your sincere wish, after several times , they will memorize their best broter.

I have an older sister who is 24 and I am 21. We are basically best friends and we try to help each other out every chance we get. Our parents got a divorce when we were younger and that brought us together as we had to help each other get over it. Now since then my mom and dad has both had other kids so from my moms side I have a brother and sister who are 13. And from my dads side I have a brother who is 14, a brother who is almost 9, a sister who is almost 7 and a sister who is 5. I also have stepsister who is 22. I am pretty close with all of them but I don't get to see any of them that much because of my job. So yeah, I have a whole lot of siblings and it keeps things interesting (as well as stressful) around the holidays.
