Police: Connellsville Man Claims Rape Of 5-Year-Old Accidental Yes, this a man is claiming he accidentally raped a 5 year old!!! http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/news/14972900/detail.html Sometimes are accidents - you hit some ice your car hits a tree, you drop something and break it. But the rape of a 5 year old. Come on! Does anyone buy this one. What accident do you think should happen to this 25 year old man?

One of the things I have learned in life is that the really smart criminals have a ready made somewhat believable pre-arranged 'excuse' for their behavior on the chance they might be caught. This is not one of the really smart criminals.

Not buying his folly at all. A rape is never an accident. Maybe he did not premeditate what happened. However, him pulling down his pants and defiling the girl can never be an accident. An accident is not preempted.

And I would see that poor woman accidentally fall into him and try her best to avoid him and in twisting to do it, she injures him. You know... stranger things have happened ...like accidental rape.

I'm all for an 'accidental' hanging. Even listening to his version, for it to work, that would mean he and the girl would have been sleeping naked for his 'dream' to happen. That's a whole other problem. The bail wasn't set high enough in my opinion.

In my opinion there should have been no bail. My dream is to win the lottery...it is amazing the variety of dreams that people can have.

I guess he thought he was having the ultimate "wet dream"? Is his defense that he sleep screws? This guy is a real jerk. What was that little one doing in bed with him if he did not have premeditated illicit intentions. Even if he tries to say that he is nuts he is not going to get out of this one. At least I hope not.

I know, there are so many things here that just don't add up. Well we know he is nuts, but the kind of nuts that should be behind bars ...not on the streets and taking some meds.

It is very sad that in our country he can have good lawyer and get out from prison. I hope it will never happen, but we know how this system works. Any time someone claim mental health problem, lawyers get paid, victims get nothing and criminal is free. There was only one big accident, Titanic... The rest is under question... My question is, how come he was taking care of 5 years old? As long as I know, babysitters are females...

Yes, but wasn't he younger that 25? Do you know what I mean? Usually teenagers are babysitting small ones, not adults. Unless you know someone very well, probably male is always under question. I believe that your son was very good babysitter, but I am talking about majority. Also, most babysitters are by referrals. We don't know more details about this sitting....

My son was a very popular babysitter and I know him, if he knew of a guy that did that to a child, they would not be walking away. He would administer his own kind of justice. He is not a violent person but he has been in trouble in school for fighting...and he was protecting the bullied kid from the bully. This was in 1st grade when he took on a 5th grader on behalf of a kindergarten girl. Back then he was a little runt of a kid, now he is 6' 3" and 240...no one messes with him. SO let's not put down all male babysitters.

Firstly, anyone who still has a few brain cells left, will know that rape isn't accidental no matter which way it is looked at. One can slice it, dice it or mince it and it is still rape. Rape of a minor no less. Secondly, if you aren't the parent of the child, you shouldn't be in bed with them, even if they had a bad dream, ok maybe sleep in the same room, so the child will go back to sleep, but not in the child's bed or vice versa. I have had both my son and daughter sleep in my bed with me, but that was only on the occasion that severe weather was in the area, or I was just to lazy to go back to their rooms to put them back to bed after them having a bad dream. In which, even at most tired, I know that it is still a child within my bed, and would never do that sort of thing or even think of doing that sort of thing. In any case, my thoughts and prayers are with the little girl and her family. I hope that man gets what's coming to him and hope he never sees the light of day again.

I think that never seeing the light of day is too good for him, unless he is constantly being visited by 'accidental rapists'. My son would try and visit in bed...but he was a restless sleeper and I would get kicked all night, but you are right, no one should be sleeping in bed with a child under any circumstance. One time my nephew got in bed with me, but when a bit later I sent him to his own bed, he said 'Night Mom'. A non-related adult in bed with a child reminds me too much about Michael Jackson

Yeah what you say is true, guess I'm just to nice to come out and say it myself..lol! Though eventually he will get what is coming to him, may not be today or tomorrow, but he will get it. Things in my opinion just have a way of working out that way. As for the Michael Jackson thing, well won't go there, cause well I think he is just another example of a person's celebrity and money, letting them get away with murder just about.

That's a stupid attempt to reduce his punishment. The jury and judge shouldn't buy any of it. I hope he gets the maximum punishment. I hope he burns in hell for what he did.

That is the lamest mess I have ever heard. They should give him an extra ten years just for coming up with that crap. I want to know why the mother would leave her five year old daughter with a 25 year old man who lived alone in the first place. I mean was he any relation, a friend from work, or a next door neighbor? What made this mother so trusting of him? Was he her boyfriend? My aunt would come out of a bag on the mother and the man for this. I use to think that she was over reacting when she would be so protective of her grand daughter around grown men. The older I get, the more I understand.

It is a terrible world wondering who you can and cannot trust. You know, you watch TV, kids were taken in by people all the time back in the days of the Waltons, and you know some of those kids were abused, were used as child labor and beaten. But did stuff like this go on? Have we slipped this low? Were more people trustworthy then?

I answered a post this morning about a man committing robbery at a store. He accidentally shot himself in the groin. I have a good idea. Maybe the robber and the accidental rapist should meet. This is one topic that makes me soooo angry!Accident, yeah right.

I hate lawyers because they will come up with the strangest defenses to try and get their client of out something that they obviously did, that they should pay for. And this is one of the cases where this man should really pay for what he did. I hate how some people actually believe the things people say too.

I don't believe this as how can rape be accidental, ofcourse accident happens but not such as rape case. How come he rape a five year old how can such accidents happen to normal people and also a twenty five year old man involved in this case. I hope such people does not exist or let not these things happen.

Oh, my God, wtf? He "accidentally" did it? Come on now. I am with you, this is something that is definitely NOT done by accident! What the f**k was he doing in the same bed as the little girl in the first place?!? This just goes to show you you can't leave your kids with everyone, even if you think you can trust them. I hope he gets "accidentally" raped in jail when he goes, that way he can know how it feels. This touches me in so many ways. A few months ago I had to go through something similar when my 13 year old cousin touched my 3 year old daughter. We are still going to court over it to this day. I have to keep a close eye on my daughter now. Even though she isn't showing any signs of depression or any other effects of it, I have to keep a close eye to make sure it doesn't, because even though she is young, she will remember it for the rest of her life. My cousin never penetrated my daughter, but this man did. And this little girl is old enough to know somewhat what is going on. She will be scarred for life, and this man, after committing this horrible act, tries to explain it off as an accident. This man needs to be under the jail!!!

This man needs to spend a lot of time with a lot of people who will accidentally rape him. That is a terrible thing for your 3 year old daughter. You are lucky it did not go further. Counseling should help and having a supportive understanding Mom, will help too. It is hard to trust people and someone around like this, makes it impossible.

its really very weird.i think the man is mentally sick .nobody can say that he raped a girl and that too accidently.i am not going to buy this story and i guess non of you will buy it.he should definately be punished orelse being sent to mental asylum.if he thinks he did it by mistake i am sure to say that this man needs medical assistance and once he is cure he should definately be punished.nobody would really be able to understand the pain that little girl went through throughout this incident.i am sure she and her family are going through a big trauma and the man needs to be punished for what he has done.

this is really sad. i pray for the immediate recovery of the child. i also pray for the relatives of this child who were also hurt because of this incident. things like this will leave a scar for life. i pray that the child overcomes this and grows up to be as normal as possible. i know that is really stretching it but one can only hope for the best in sitautions such as this. as for the offender, i have no ill will against him. i also pray that he finds it in his heart to admit his guilt. may justice be served!!!
