Trouble

Does anyone on here have trouble falling asleep even though they are so tired? I am so tired every night, but I still have trouble falling asleep...I've tried leaving the television on and muting it so the noise doesn't keep me up, but sometimes it doesn't help. I've tried listening to music before, doesn't work. Everything I do leads to me staying up tossing and turning for like 45 minutes. Any help? Thanks in advance.

my doctor has mentioned warm milk as the properties in warmed (not cold) milk relax the body. if you dont like plain warm milk, add some malt but not anything with caffeine. also if you drink a bit of caffeine during the day its best to stop having it by 5pm if not earlier so that its not keeping you awake as much... i drink decaf coffee anyway because i have to. try reading a book for a while with nothing else distracting you good luck and i wish you some good sleep soon.

It's cool, sometimes mylot will go slow and then it takes me to that page that says that the page cannot be seen so I try to post it again, and then I end up posting twice...I know how that goes.

Try reading a novel or any book, it might help.

That's actually when I get most of my reading done.

I don't like the warm milk, for some reason it makes me sick to my stomach. I don't drink anything with caffeine during the day, that's why I don't understand why I can't fall asleep. It's more of a thing where my brain isn't as tired as my body is...

I tried the milk thing, but warm milk makes me sick, and cold milk, it doesn't seem to work, my mom said it did when I was younger, and it works for her! So not far.... Thanks for the advice.

I also have the same problem because my mind won't turn itself off when I want it to. I can't find a way to stop it but I always stay up as late as I can so the body gets too tired and I can finally just go to sleep.

Exactly! I say the same thing and people are like what do you mean? My mind starts wandering and I just think of all kinds of things.

I have trouble sleeping also. I try to do relaxation techniques and see if that helps. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Lately it hasn't helped at all. I hate when I cannot sleep and I'm so tired. I walk into things and just have such an off time.

I experienced this before and I had a bad time in those days. I was having problems and I’m so stressed. Even if I’m so tired from school the whole day and wanted to just crash on my bed but I still have other things to entertain in my mind. And these were problems that I can’t easily move aside and think of them later. So maybe you’re thinking of something that bothers you that makes you up even if you’re that tired. Why not relaxed first and settle yourself before sleeping because however you try to get some sleep but you’re too bothered of something, you’ll really have a hard time closing your eyes and rest.

I do, it's called being overtired. Try reading a book while in bed, either reading or one on tape. I do that for 10 minutes a day.

Fortunately I've never really had insomnia, even when I'm worried or stressed I can still fall asleep.

I find that playing games on my cell phone helps me doze off, and kill my battery since I usually drop it or sleep on it while it's open. I think it's because of the super bright screen. The reason I don't get tired on the computer is because i leave the lights on so i'm surrounded by light.

Thanks I'll have to try that. I don't get tired being on the computer either, because I always find something to do.
