I was just wondering how many of you keep Birthday Cards or if you throw them out after a while? Also do you keep any other cards too like christmas & anniversay cards etc? Well I keep mine - have all my birthday cards since being born (so I even have my birth ones) and I am actually in the process of organising all my kids birth and birthday cards into albums so they will have them for when they are older too. (Probably what gave me the idea to start this discussion) I also have kept all my anniversary cards etc and also alot of christmas cards too. Look Forward to see what you all do with your cards... also if you keep them are they in scrapbooks or albums or just stored away??

i,there, mummybec, I do keep cards no matter this is a birthday cards or anniversay cards or christmas cards.Actually ,I am a sloppy girl all the things I haven't well kept them in a porper places and don't well organize them. All these things are the duty of my mother(haha)especially in the past years due to the heavy pressure on my studies, but now I have more free time so I do it myself without bother my mother as I am growing up I have to do the things by myself and learning to independent. I often keep them in the albums for it is convenient and don't need to use anything to paste them. Molly;-)

Hi Molly, Yeah the more I think about all my cards the more I now want to get into them and sort them out - most likely into some type of album or something - I have a few ideas :)

yeah, I keep mine in a box! a big box actually, I've collected loads of cards of any occassion, letters and even bookmarks from my friends. It just give me a sense of feeling that many people remembers me during special occassions. and that makes me feel important!

I actually keep most of mine...birthday ones anyway. My parents kept every card they gave to one another. I have a small business and I make handmade cards. Each card has hearts on it cut from the cards my parents gave to one another...in other words each heart is from a card that says I love you! They are great sellers....and has been a great idea for others to use. One customer's parents were having their 50th anniversary and they decided to add some hearts from their parents' card to one another! Just to pass on the love!

I use to keep all mine but when I moved I lost so many of them. I tried to save them all over when we got settled in, but my husband would throw some away. So I just gave up.

It would be hard to keep them if you moved lots. My hubby has learned not to throw any cards including his - as I like to keep them.

I used to keep them all, though I'm not really sure when this all started. But over the last couple of years, I have realized what a packrat I am and I am slowly endeavouring to simplify my life and my space. I've started going through cards and other sentimental bits, and sorting through what it is I really love and want to keep, and what can go in the recycling box.

Yes, I am the same..I used to keep every card but a few years ago...ugh..there were just too many. So, in order to downsize the card clutter, I sorted through and kept the ones that held sentimental value to me and threw the rest away.

That is fair enough.... Yeah If I ever decided to minimise the ones I have I would always hold onto any with special meanings etc...

I used to keep most of the cards I got. But, in the last few years, I've been cleaning out my apartment because I just have too much clutter and I don't live in a big place. So, unless there's something really special written inside the card, I throw it out. Sometimes, I keep the written part and tear off the rest and throw that part out.

Sounds like how mine are... I think they are in some type of order till a certain age... although I do bundle them together (so all the ones from one birthday etc) I will have to get around to putting them into scrapbooks or something.

Well I used to keep cards but now I dont keep.Well when I was 13 or something I lost all my prvious cards and then I decided that I am not gonna keep cards anymore.Well it was entirely a personal decision and coming to think of it now as you asked ,it would have been better had I kept cards because it would have given me a chance to look back at the life one year by one year.yes as they say there is no chance crying over split milk.

I still have birthday cards from when I was a child. I do not collect them as much anymore. I like to look at the cards I got when I was a teenager, good to remember my teenage friends.I have kept my baby shower cards and Valentines cards, they are always special. My cards are just stored away in a container. I like the idea of putting them in a scrapbook though, might give that a try.
