We just got a phone call from our friend. According to him, he got to his sisters house and said hello and collapsed on the floor. She took him to the nearest VA hospital and he was admitted however he got out today. His sister told him that he's not going anywhere and is moving in with her and she's going to nurse him back to health. WHEW!! It's a huge relief on us no doubt but we don't know how much truth he's telling. He's the type of person that can't hold the truth no matter how important it is or maybe it's he can only tell partial truths so we don't know exactly what's wrong with him but hopefully his sister does or she can find out from his doctors and get him back to his old self. He's a nice guy and all when he's himself. We've decided that he's not going to move back in with us anymore. It's time he moves on with his life now that he got his divorce so it's time for him to get well and then get his own place. Talking about a load lifted off of us!! We're like deflated balloons because of all the stress he's put on us that we're kind of laying around resting up so we can get back to our lives. Although the rent money was nice, it's just not worth all the crap he put us through.

Don't even worry about the truth of why he is gone, just be glad that he is. We come across emotionally taxing people all the time. The completely deplete us of everything we need to be helpers. This kind of thing can be a test and it can help us to grow. Just make sure that when the dust finally settles, you are no worse for the wear and tear.

I really don't think he meant any harm but he could've done much better controlling his diabetes. He loves candy and got it by the bags. I won't neglect the guy for he is a friend but man! He came with a ton of baggage!! lol If I grew from this experience then I must be made pretty big and tough then!! lol Thanks Rozie!

He did go to the doctors on monday though. It's all a put on, a show to get attention. He had me a nervous wreck!! I'm so glad he's gone. His money just wasn't worth the crap he put us through.

This is great news CatsandDogs...I did read your other discussion..whew! That was one long one..and I thought I wrote some long posts..LOL. But while the extra money you were getting with him staying with you, it was just causing too much stress all way round. So hopefully things will get back to normal for you, right? You deserve it!

It is good that he is with his family members, as they have more rights to help him with his health. I am sure he did not mean to put you through so much, and it is good that you were there for him to help keep him safe. Unless the sister chooses to tell you what is wrong with him, you will not find out for sure, because of privacy laws. I have had an apartment in my home before, it is a real headache. Friends are better friends if you are not involved in business with them.

I agree. And no I don't think he meant any harm but he could've done much better controlling his diabetes. He loves candy and eats it knowing full well that he can't have it. The last time he was living with us, a year ago, he moved out without taking his things with him and went back to his now ex wife. He asked us to ship all of his things to him and that's when we found bag after bag after bag of candy. That's when we got to thinking, is he a hypochondriac or is he nuts eating candy knowing he has diabetes? Well now we know he does have diabetes after he made a visit with the doctor after he checked himself with my dad's meter. Between his sugar being way too high and getting a divorce took a toll on the poor guy. He don't think he'll be back though. He really wants his own place near his family which would do him a lot of good. Thanks GardenGerty!
