Me and my fiance and my son live in a 2 bedroom apartment on the bottom but the reason I say this is if you have ever lived in the bottom part then you know that I am talking about it sounds like there is elephants above us I know that they have kids but at 3:00 am what in the crap is going on thats why I will be glad when we move and all we will have is people beside us am I the only one to go threw this?

I understand how it feels, Your still resting and somebody start making sounds it's really hard to live in the buttom part, Ask you some question is the upper part made of wood. Coz my mom live in the upper part also and they will not hear any sound upstairs. ahhh they have children right now they will not stop making noise then. Maybe all you have to do to resolve that problem is find another apartment that does not have other person live upstairs if you don't find one that does not have people upstairs then be sure you found one that does not have children yet or if thewy have be sure they are grown-up already.

I hate living under/over/next to anyone! Even when I've lived beside fairly quiet neighbors, and only next to, not over or under, it is so stressful. I always worry what they can hear from us, and then in the rowhome I just moved from, I could hear the man next door get up to go to the bathroom and clear his sinuses at night. So imagine my stress when my special needs child would start a tantrum! We just moved to a detached home, for the first time in many, many year, and I wasn't prepared for the amount of relief I feel! I knew the noise levels and just the feeling that the neighbors knew our whole life story was hard, but didn't realize the level of my stress til I arrived here! I don't even have to worry about the dog barking! I highly recommend detached home living, if you can do it. It was impossible for us when living in Philadelphia, but now in NC, it is a reality that I am beyond thankful for!

I have been through this before also. People above us would stomp, slam doors, hollar and you name it. It drove us crazy. We have our own home now and it is fairly quiet now but it could be better. We would like to move to get some peace some day also. I hope you all can move away from that soon.

I never lived on the first floor, but I have lived in the 2nd floor between two floors. You can get it on all sides then. Most of the time people were pretty cool though. I guess I was lucky.
