Many cultures of the world practice gendercide. It recently became quite a discussion in the Vancouver, B.C. where a young female child (18months) was murdered by her father. He already had two girls, and in his culture he must have a son. This was/is practiced in China. This child was East Indian & this is the second such in our area in just over a year

This is so sad to hear. Hearing such stories really make me sad. I cannot undersand why mankind can be so cruel to his offspring. Not even animals are such cruel to their young!

There seemed to be quite a rash of it happening in the Sikh culture here! And sadly enough, I guess in some cultures it is acceptable! With all the modern sciences (something I just saw somewhere lately)...there are some conception methods that give higher ratio of male descendants! Can't remember where I saw it, but it was interesting!
