Have you ever wanted to make money so badly that you ended up chasing rainbows?

I have started so many businesses trying to make extra money that I ended up spending more money than I made. I found out I was only chasing rainbows. I was reading in God's Word this morning and it said that only lazy people chase dreams. I have never been a lazy person and have always worked hard and been very dedicated to my tasks at hand, but that hit me hard between the eyes. Find something that you are good at, and stick with it. When we chase rainbows, we are setting ourselves up for failure. I have done some really stupid things trying to make money. What kinds of things have you done to make extra money?

I want to welcome you to myLot, as you look like a great addition to our family. Unfortunately about four years ago my husband was out of work for no fault of his own. He found lots of "opportunities" online, and I am a perpetual optimist, so we racked up a lot of credit card debt. We also live off of credit a bit, because I was not fully employed myself. I am now working two jobs, he found another job, and we are paying horrible bills down. I hope not to be able at some point to get rid of one of the jobs. I use what I earn online to pay for things I think I might be interested in. So far, I have found an reliable investment club, where I do make money, with small investments. I have also bought some e-books that have not helped me. What was the reference on that scripture, or is it not one thing in particular? Thanks for the discussion.

The referenced scripture is in Proverbs 10:4 but read the whole chapter. My Bible is a study Bible and the notation on this particular scripture reads "Every day has 24 hours filled with opportunities to grow, serve, and be productive. Yet it is so easy to waste time, letting life slip from our grasp. Refuse to be a lazy person, sleeping or frittering away the hours meant for productive work. See time as God's gift and seize your opportunities to live diligently for him". This struck me right in the middle of my forhead because what I was doing wasn't bringing in any income. I was looking for an easy way out instead of using my time to produce income. In other words, I wasted of lot of time and money. I think I'm back on the right track now. Thanks for your comments.

I completely understand what you are saying. Unfortunately the reason so many people fail in business, is that they don't have a clear cut direction before they go searching for a business online. Then they end up getting sold on the next big thing and chasing rainbow after rainbow. I wrote an article about this, hopefully this will help you. I posted it at my blog: http://drknlvly6781prove.blogspot.com/ Hopefully after reading this it will help to give you some direction in your efforts.

Hi there Green4success......I tried to have a painting business, like the year before last, and it didn't work out as I planned. I guess I was chasing rainbow's, so to speak. I've been praying about what kind of job I should have, so I know that God, will put me where he wants me. So, where ever and however you go to make some money, I'm sure that God will guide you. I'm sure your not lazy, but you'll have what you need, when you need it, that's a promise from our LORD........ :o)
