My dog doesn't share his food with me so why should I share my food with him? Although dog food and dog bones don't tempt my palate, why would lasagne interest a dog?

LOL - if you had to eat the same food day after day after day that dog food may look tempting to you. I was just talking about this the other day. My ex bought a 50 pound bag of dog food for our dog (we actually got the dog for the grandkids but he's more my dog). I can tell he's getting bored with the food and will go all day without eating in hopes to get some table scrapes.

This all occurred to me while I was trying to eat lunch today. I don't go sit on the floor by the dog food bowl and whine when he's trying to eat..lol Maybe I should try it and he will see how it feels. Thanks for responding.

LOL too funny but just might work I know my dog won't eat if I'm standing watching him - he often waits until I go to bed to eat although I hear him out in the other room eating right now.

lol...well my dog THOUGHT she was human, so she'd eat anything, probably even saurkraut if I put it in front of her! Well she was a German Shepherd, so I suppose she'd like german food! Ok, I'm kidding on that one. I hope he didn't get to the pan before you had a chance to serve it!

The advantage of having a small dog is they can't reach the table or stove. I love it. Does your dog speak German also? lol Thanks for responding.

lol...that reminds me...my ex husband is from Germany and when we first married, my sister asked him if dogs over there bark in German! lol (she wasn't kidding either)

Hehehehe, you're too funny. I'm not quite sure dogs actually get the concept of sharing. I could be wrong however. And it seems that once our pups get a taste of human food they don't venture back to puppy chow, so to speak. Lasagne tastes so much better. On the other hand, is human food good for them?

According to our vet, human food is bad for dogs. I don't feed the dog my food but find my husband sharing once in awhile. Thanks for responding.

I guess because most dogs were eating wild food before they started making actual dog food made just for them. I guess they are attracted to the aroma of the food.

Makes perfectly good sense. I'd be so bored if I ate the same thing everyday with water. Thanks for responding.

Same here. My Pomeranian won't eat dog food at all unless we hand feed it to him, LOL. Then he eats it like it is steak or something. He is so spolied. He would rather have table food with us. It scares me these days also because of all of the dogfood recalls.

How cute is this post. I love the way you worded it. That is a very good question just wish I had a good answer for you. I do know that since my dog sits there and looks at us so sad while we are eating that he has gotten my 13 1/2 yr old cat wanting left overs now also and she never was like this before until he started it unless it was ice cream or milk from the cereal but now it is anything. Maybe it is just bred in them since dogs are really from the wild. hahaha Don't let my dog know that, he is just over a year old and they guys have him so spoiled. LOL LOL It will be interesting to see what others have to say on this subject.

Why thanks so much. I thought myLot needed some fun today. We all know this sort of thing happens on a daily basis if we have animals. They love our food and think they are humans. We don't love their food and think we are dogs! Don't get me wrong, we have a dog and a cat and I love them both dearly. Probably more than my husband...lol Thanks for responding.

Maybe your dog has discriminating taste! My Reggie actually was very fussy. He would not eat Burger King French Fries....only the ones from McDonalds! He didn't like certain things...like once I made meatballs stuffed with stove top.....he turned up his nose at them (they were awful!)...but he loved popcorn and it would pick the hard peices off for him so he just ate the good stuff.....was I nuts or what?

When you feed your dog popcorn put some mustard on the top.....lol Kidding! Dogs are picky too just like people. Our dog loves bagels. He doesn't like lox or cream cheese on the bagel, only plain. Tell Reggie I said hello. Thanks for responding.
