New series, Grissom being phased out?

Is it me, or in the new series are they slowly getting rid of Grissom? Or changing the charcter so he is less and less likeble. The Without a trace episode seems to stand out as the worse example of this. He had a sense of humor, which seems to have gone.

William Petersen is not leaving the show. There would not be a show without him, as to many viewers would stop watching. I think its important for a character to change over time to make them interesting and unpredictable. When William wasn't on the show the ratings dropped a lot, so I'm certain he will get a signed contract with time off when he wants it for other projects. There is talk that somebody will be leaving when the show continues next season. I hope its not true.

Not sure, they seem to be fading him into the background, and changing the charcter to be less likable. He did sign on for six series, but they got him to do eight.

I hope not I really like his character, they are probably just changing the character, and I feel this would be a bad thing for the program, I like his current character.

WHAt's CSI without Grissom? Maybe they could try removing him and then we;ll see what would happen.

I am not too sure about getting rid of him, but I sure do agree about his character. He certainly is getting more and more unlikeable. He is so cold and unfeeling. Even the scenes with him and Sara he seemed so detached not someone who was with someone he cared about. You know I started watching CSI toward the end of the second season, so it wasn't til they started running the older shows in syndication that I caught season one and the first half of season two. I was completely shocked. Grissom was a totally different person in the first season. He was sweet and joked and laughed and really showed some compassion and...well life!! Nothing at all like his character now. I have no idea why they made him so lifeless. I understand he is all about the science...but give the man a soul too!!

I actually thought they were moving to discontinue his character last season, when he went on sabbatical, and that other CSI came in for a while. I'm not seeing it so much this season, but then, doesn't it seem to you that they skip seasons in the plot lines. I mean, they bring in a plot line from some small occurance a year or two ago. Like for example, I'm wondering about the "headaches" that they showed him having, and the times when he became so seemingly engrossed in cases - staring at his computer screen. I was wondering if they were going to have a story line with him being mentally ill.

Noooooo Grissom is the best character, they can't phase him out, too many people would stop watching. I still like him and I don't think his sense of humour has gone but I think they are using other characters more, like the lab rats, possibly to try and freshen it up and not rely on Grissom so much.
