Lately I don't even wait for that to happen and I just take my nighttime meds so I'll be sure to get to sleep but normally I know I need to go to bed when I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open. If I have to work really hard at it then I know it's past my bedtime. How do you know when your really tired enough to go to bed? Does your body give you signals that you are aware of?

Hey wanna pass along some of those nighttime meds? I've been sleeping horribly lately and sometimes even though my body is saying it's exhausted or my eyes are burning like crazy I still can't seem to sleep. Last night was the first night in weeks that I actually was asleep before 10 and slept all night. I also tend to get 'snippy' when I'm tired :(

lol...getting snippy is another way I know that I need to get myself to sleep. I've noticed that when I'm responding here at night and I'm tired that I sometimes say things I don't mean or don't explain myself well and am taken the wrong way. (no way...get your own...lol)

Oh yes, myLot is a great example. I very seldom respond to discussions in the late afternoon or evening - I know I'm tired and will like you come out with responses I normally wouldn't. Early morning is my best time of the day for the most part - my brain works better when I'm rested.

Since I had the cold from he11, ctry, I have become more aware of the limitations of my body. It really took a lot out of me, and I have not yet regained my strength. I can no longer stay up indefinitely because my body refuses to cooperate, lol. I recently found myself dozing while I was playing a game on a favorite site! So, nowadays I begin preparing for bed around 11:00 or 12:00 at the latest. My energy is improving somewhat, but I have a ways to go yet.

I'm sorry that cold still has you down...it must have been a doozy! Your energy will improve a bit every day I'm sure...just take it slow.

Most of the time my body gives me a sign it is getting tired, and wants a nap or it is time to go to bed. But then sometimes like many others, I am sure fight that urge until we fall asleep at our Computer desk, etc. One thing that makes me tired a lot of the time, is that I am insulin diabetuc, and this also plays a big factor in my life all of the time too.

I've heard that being insulin diabetic can play a big part in getting tired and your reaction to it. I don't think I've ever fallen asleep at my desk.

My body usually lets me know that I'm getting tired. I'll start feeling really sleepy and can't hardly keep my eyes open. And when I take my allergy medicine then I know it's not long before I need to go to bed because that stuff makes me so sleepy and I sleep all night long without waking up when I take it.

I stay up until I feel tired. I don't go to bed until I am tired.I wouldn't get to sleep if I just went to bed without being tired. In fact I think I wouldn't get any sleep.

lol...that even happens to me sometimes when I take my meds. I'll take them...put on my pj's or whatever I'm going to wear to bed and the next thing I know I'm wide awake. It's not a good thing though because when my meds decide to kick in I start getting dizzy and had better be laying down!

My body will be telling me. I will have a back ache, tired, crampy legs, sleepy eyes. Possibly a headache. My arms will hurt.

Usually when I start getting tired I start misspelling words, my concentration is shot and I have problems following what I'm doing. I also get cranky and irritable. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I think that my body signals me that it is tired and ready for bed by making me think that it is hungry... I guess it is me looking for energy.

Whenever I become tired I could not work, yes also I can not talk well or listen well some one talking before me. In such a critical situation I rush to go to my bed to embrace the sleeping situation. I could not stay awaking myself in such condition. when I do not feel myself tired I can not take start of my sleeping hours. sleeping is necessary for good health and also good performance during the work. I feel headache and also feel automatically shutting my eyes when I feel tired and I need to take rest or sleep. I also feel bore when I become tired.

I don't wait till I get so tired I can't do anything. I go to bed every night around 12:30 and I lay in bed and read till I get drowsy. It usually takes me about half an hour to fall asleep. Sometimes I get sleepy in the afternoon and then I will take a 15 minute catnap just to get rid of that sleepy edge. But it is unusual for me to stay up till I am tired. I am not a good sleeper so for me to get 5 hours of sleep a night would be a good night for me.

Well, I usually head to my bed around 1 am. I have to get my son up for school at 7:15. I take allergy medication that makes me drowsy, so I started taking it when I go to bed. I also am on a pain medication for my ankle and lower back, the pills last about 4-6 hours. I find if I take my pills around 1, usually I'm out by 2.. then up again at 7:15. I also have RLS, and the meds usually keep it from acting up. But usually, I take my meds, get in bed, read my book for a bit and when I start nodding off, I know it's time.

I usually have to listen to my body, however, the times of day/night always vary so immensely so I have to take melatonin in order to be sure that I have a consistent bed time every night. Otherwise I could be an early bird one day and a vampire the next... As for signs my body gives me... my head starts to feel slightly heavier and my eyes have a hard time staying open... and I don't have as much energy as normal. Those are the most obvious signs for me.

I start rambling a lot and have to reread things 3 or 4 times. Sometimes I'll see more than one of whatever I'm looking at. If I'm really really tired I'll get a headache! My husband says I get cranky too!

When I cant keep my eyes open is one... but mostly I just stop working and go to bed when I get the headaches...I tend to eat or drink coffee etc in order to keep my eyes open----which later on just keeps my eyes open even when I feel my brain practically stops working---and this is the part where I get really frustrated and I end up wearing a "patch" of sort for my eyes to be kept closed with my mind going in cirlces thru the night. When this happen I usually not get to "really sleep" until the next day.
