Are You In Love?

Many times we end a relationship, but our feelings dont always follow suit. As time goes by, we may begin a relationship with someone else, but our heart still belongs to someone else. Has this ever happened to you?

Yes this has happened to me, my last rel that i was in i felt that i was constantly missing my ex and i felt that i was still very much in love with my ex, When i split up with my boyfriend i still felt the same Then i met my currant boyfriend to whom i am very happy and who i am in love with and now i dont think to much about my ex who i thought that i was in love with who i felt who broke my heart. I still think about my ex occasionally but it does not hurt anymore well not that it used to, I think that this has happened because i have now met someone who i love and want to be with and because i am happy my ex does not seem to matter to me anymore like what he did

Perhaps it is all a matter of time and as you said meeting not the next person, but the "right" person. Thanks for responding.

Fortunately for me and the new guy, it hasn't.I have never severed a relationship that wasn't over before it was over. I tend to hang on for far too long, but never allowed it to linger past the point of splitting up.

For me no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't make it work. Ten years later there remains alot of history and too many feelings.

I'm sorry to hear that,I think it is very important for you to find closure some how... btw I should have mentioned though in that last response, that I don't think I have ever been truly in love before my fiance, perhaps that is why I have never continued to have feelings for ex's ?

yes ending a relationship is hard, I personally feel that it will take alot of time to get over someone, who you really loved, if its meant to be it will happen, if not move on, or it least try too. time heals all wounds...

Its even harder when you are with someone you care about, but don't love as deeply as the person you were with before.

Sometimes, easier said than done. How do you simply turn off your feelings?
