BombThreat at School

This morning my grandson's High School dismissed all the students. This evening on the news they reported that there was a threat, possibly a bomb. They decided to send the kids home instead of having them wait out side in the cold while they searched the buildings listened to the radio to learn why school was dismissed this way. I didn't hear any thing until this evening on the evening news. It is so scary to have the kids sent home in the middle of the day. Though I would rather it be the high school kids rather then the elementary school kids. High school kids can be home alone while elementary kids can't. What is wrong with this world that people think they have to bomb schools

Wow. I am very sorry to hear that. My daughter went through something like this last year at her high school, but they were all kept there and the police and canines were brought in. It is very scary and I cannot hardly wait until she graduates in a couple of years.

I guess this has happened before and they just waited outside. The administration decided it was too cold for the kids to stand around out side while they checked the school over

Yes, Thank you. They usually have the kids just wait out side, but today decided it was too cold for the kids to be standing around for over an hour while they checked thing out.

we had things like that here in Memphis Tennessee and it is scary that people would target are kids. most the time i think they are fake but you still have to take them as a true threat anyways

Well when I was a junior in high school we had a total of 9 bomb threats in a matter of about 3 weeks. Granted seven of them were written in the school by the students. The other two were called via pay phone, and they caught both callers. The students just wanted to get out of school. We also had an experience where they just sent us home, not becuase it was cold, but because it was going to be a very prolonged ordeal. The really bad thing about this is, we are in a very rural area, not in a big city like one would expect.

That sounds like it was from a student or maybe a former student. My grandson tells me that the threat was posted on myspace, But that could just be a rumor. you know how that goes.

I actually know what you are talkign about because the middle school that I use to go to got a bomb threat one time but they didn't dismiss school they just brought the bomb dogs in there and kept the kids in lockdown(which means that the kids got locked in the class rooms while this was going on) but they never found anything....I really dont know why people try and call bomb threats in or why they try and bomb kids school....school is suppose to be aplace that a kid can go and feel safe and the parents feel safe but more and more these days that doesnt happen

One young man thought he found something suspicious in one of the bathrooms. It turned out to be nothing. Maybe that is why they sent the kids home as well as for the cold.
