I am the closer for this week and every afternoon I go to the technical operations for the ticket closing for the job that they have completed for the day. NAd today, I saw in their office new computers, all black with flat screen monitors. I was really amazed, it was really perfect and surely I would be very inspired to work if I have that kind of computer. Its just like the samecomputers that the IT department have, but their screens are powerful coz they have this 21 " screen and its really great and others have bigger screens. Well with the kind of techy things they do int heir departments Im sure having such a great thing to work with would be more conducive on their part. I envy them but our department dont need those thechy things coz as what I ahve learned in our department we were given the second grade cpu's and monitors, though sometimes they give us new monitors but the cpus are still the old ones. What about you mylotters are you using flat screen or the normal monitor? I hope to hear from you. have a nice day and happy mylotting!

I always had a regular desktop monitor for my computer for years. I hated trying to dust around it and it took up alot of space on my desk. I just got a new flatscreen monitor about 2 years ago for Christmas and i love it.

Yes. It takes up less space and it is easier to move around to clean or angle it so you can see it better no matter where you are sitting. I really like the wider screen too.

I'm in THailand which is also far behind, and when new technology arrives it's usually way out of my reach, so I wait a few years before I buy. This is my first note book/lap top.

Mine is already using the LCD monitor and I found it to be better for the eyes compared to the CRT type.

I have a flat screen monitor which I purchased new last year at an excelent price... though I think that these are now the "normal monitor" and the crt are obsolete. now that I type this out I think I may have already answered this question.

Both of our desktop computers have the old type of monitor the CRT coz the flat screen LCD type is expensive. Although I have laptop PC too which is also great to use.

I have tried using flatscreens and I can really say that flat screens give a different moivation to use the computer and gives me more and more excitement to post and post and post more and more here. These days, I just imagine that im using a flatscrren to give me enough motivation here than nothing.

I have had a flat screen for a long time sseveral years ago I got a DELL and it came with the flat screen. and I think it was a 17 inch one. Now with new puter I got almost 3 years ago I got a 21 inche screen with it I love them and they dont take up al that room on your desk. But then I am home too and bought my own and I hoping it never ever goes out for it would be hard to replace it now. hugs

I have an old monitor, in fact, my teck geek complains its fuzzy. My roomie got a flat screen - her choice - I'm fine with what I've got - I'd just put MORE junk on my desk with a flat screen.

I've finally replaced my old fuzzy monitor with the free, larger monitor that I got because someone else replaced it WITH a flat screen!

LOl, you have enough reason about that. At least with the old one you can maximize your space for the monitor alone. Take care!

Wow, im glad I still have some one who is still using the old model, its still ok as long as the computer still work then we can use it as much as we can. The flat screens are really expensive and it would require a good budget to get good quality.

I use 3 LCD monitors on 2 computers. one is a 19" normal resolution at 1024x768 this is for games that don't like wide screen settings and tv watching mostly. Another is a 19" wide screen set to a vertical position for text reading with a res of 900x1400 (U can see a page an a half in word at one time), the other is a 22" wide screen set in normal mode at 1400x900. I am thinking about making the 1024x768 my text reader reader and replacing both the wide screens with a single 26 or 32" lcd tv.

My husband has a LCD flat screen monitor and it is just like a tv almost the monitor is so huge. I think its like a 21' or a 22'. I cant remember but its huge. I however stil have a regular monitor. He wanted the new pc for his games. The picture on the flat screen monitor is soooo much better than mine. Amazing how technology keeps getting better and better.

I'm using a 22" LCD flatscreen that is also a widescreen as well. At least I'm pretty sure it is 22". When I bought it I did write a discussion about it, so it's on here somewhere (I think LOL). As it is past 2 in the morning I am too tired to try and figure it out, but this is my guess. I never thought I'd like such a big computer screen, especially with it being a widescreen, but I do...I really do! I wouldn't go back to the standard screen for nothing now. :)

Well since I have a Mac computer they only have flat LCD screens...actually with Macs the monitor and CPU unit are one...so instead of having a separate monitor and a "tower" processor it's all in one..convenient, no?? :) still can't figure HOW they do it..I mean when you think of how large processors are for PCs how Apple can fit all that gear, the circuitry, and DVD/CD drive and so forth in the space of a monitor not much wider than a flat screen monitor...boggles the mind

I am well aware that slim TFT monitors are good for the eyes, convenient because they dont acquire much of the desk space, light and with good design. However, those who know well will tell you that the old technology CRTs with the cathodic tube have BY FAR better quality of image, can handle fast changes of colors and provide better view from the sides. If you have space, you wouldnt buy a TFT, thats my opinion :) However, i dont have much space, and if i had the money i would buy a nice TFT but more than 20 inches. At the moment, i dont wanna spend my money for monitor. The 17inches one i got works fine and wont bother to buy sth else. I have other priorities, my PC needs some serious upgrade lol
