There are about 3 million people, give or take, in my city. That doesn't include the surrounding suburbs. I prefer small town life. I grew up here in the city but chose to go to college in a little town and I loved it. The town I lived in had about 17,000 people. It was a little small, not much to do but I enjoyed being there. (Biggest store in town was Wal-mart, although they have a Home Depot now). The closest mall was 70 miles away. We were in the middle of no where.

I live in a suburb 13 miles North of Minneapolis Minnesota. The city is called C00n Rapids, Minneaota. the population is just over 60,000. Small but yet decent sized. I prefer to live in a smaller rural area but my wife is a city folk type. The farm up North (150 miles) is in a town of 224 people only. But she refuses to live in the country living on the barter system. So here I am near the huge metropolitan area of Minneapolis. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

In 2005, the population of my city was 87,800. I looked it up just to answer this question and I am beyond shocked. I live in Santa Monica. A city in Los Angeles county and in the state of California. I had no idea that so many people lived out here or even that it was big enough to hold so many.

My city is quite big. 166000 people live in it. It is a regional center. It is good that everything is in one place, but sometimes I feel I would live in a smaller place. I miss the calmness and silence.

My town is small also but not that small. I think we have close to 1000. A lot of peole who retire come to my town. There isn't a lot to do her that's for sure. We have a movie plaza at are mall. Well there are bars also. Not a lot of things to do for kids really.

The population for the city I live in was 6411 back in 2000 (census data). This is actually the census for the city right next to me as I guess the town I live in is just too small to count. :P I'm about 20 miles from the largest city in the area.

I live on an Island, off the coast of B.C., Canada! The island is 17 miles long & 5 miles wide (at widest point). The population is approx;1000, swelling to about 3500 in summer. We have two quasi grocery stores (sky-high prices), a Hardware/building supply, a Pub, a bakery, a few restaurants. We get on and off the Island by BC Ferries. The last time I went to a Metro centre, Victoria was Dec. 18/2007! Shopping, as you can see is not a priority.

I live in town called 'Olaine' which is ~25km to southwest from Latvia capital city Riga. in My town live about 13000 inhabitants and town population is split on two ethnic gropus - latvians and russians, both of groups have about 45% from total city population.
