This is taken from outside a local coffee shop near my wifes work. A lot of art students frequent this shop and they did a lot of various art work with ice and snow. This shot is a wind chime. The clangers are made with huge balls of ice and one is colored. Of course I had to bang them to hear the sweet music it makes. It was great sounding. I loved seeing all this work the students did over the weekend. It won't last long though with the warmer temps coming here soon. Thanks all. Just wanted to share my love for art, ice, snow, and photo taking with you all. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

The pictures that you posted made me wish for snow in my country... i have never experienced snow... nor seen ice sculptures in person... photos, movies, and television are the closest i got to these ice wonders...so i totally envy you... except of course when it is freezing cold... and the snow is like 4 feet deep...

The deep snow is okay it's those 20 below zero temps that are a killer. HAHAHA! So what did you think about this sculpture then? In an arts way I mean. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well, the sculpture lived up to its name... since it is a cool piece of work... those students must have put a lot of effort and thought when they made the sculptures that you shared with the mylot community... thank you very much for that...

Underneath the icicles - I took this photo of icicles from a window, trying to get an unusual angle for them.
I just wanted to answer this one so you wouldn't have a discussion with no answers. Besides I like this picture too. You do a lot of interesting things, Grandpa Bob. I took a picture of natures "wind chimes" from underneath just for fun.

I added a comment to your photo. Next time get right under the icicles and shoot upwards from the bottom point of one maybe. If I get one on my house I'll do it. But no ice yet on my roof for sometime now. Thanks. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~~

Yeah, I took that one from the window to avoid going out into the cold, ha! ha! Thanks for BR.

Its sure is pretty. I think its great to hear students doing something positive, as we are always hearing about all the bad in the newspaper. We need to see more of the great things everyday.

I don't like reading depressing news that often myself. So that's one reason I start discussions like this a lot here. Something cheerful and interesting always makes my day at least. Thanks also for the response. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I can 'almost' imagine what this one sounds like, Grandpa Bob. It's really unique. I've never thought of ice combined with wind chimes (until now).

It sounded like any ordinary wind chime actually. I want a few for in my backyard but the wife doesn't like them for some reason. Oh well I am getting at least one this summer. HAHAHAHA! Thanks. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!`

That is absolutely awesome! That had to have some work put into it that is for sure. It's a shame the work is only temporary!

I wonder what I sounds like when it hits the metal? I think it is pretty. I would never have thought of something like that.
