I usually try to get most people, but i do not respond to every single person when i get alot of responces. if i have like 5 or 6 then i do or even like 10 but in a group of 40 i do not do all 40. how about you?. and do you feel like the person is being rude if the do not respond to your responce?... thanks xoxoxobritt

Since last month... i always make a comment to every single person that made a response to my discussion... before i only like choose half... but now even if i get 30 or only 3 responses... i always leave a comment... i feel that it is but polite to say thank you eventhough what they wrote do not exactly jive with my opinion... I feel that a member is rude when he or she never ever makes a comment but starts like tons of discussions...

I agree with you, aseretdd, to a point. There are those who start many discussions (usually of no real value) and never revisit them, even to give a Best Response! They are the careless ones who are really only casual visitors. If one is hurt by their 'rudeness' in not responding, then it is probably because one doesn't understand human nature sufficiently. I always feel honoured when someone makes a comment on my post which is more than just a 'Thank you for your response'. I actually value that kind of comment very little. I would rather that someone didn't waste their time thanking me if they have no real interest in the discussion they started!

Well what i mean by not being able think of anything to say back, is when, say okay i asked this person... all they say is, Yes i usually try to but somtimes dont get them all back no. what am i supposed to say to that, that i havent already said to someone else?... i am not ayaing i can think of anything to say back because im not intrested in my topic. if im not intrested in my own topic. what makes me think anyone else would be? therefore i wouldnt waste my time posting on somthing i didnt find intresting... xoxoxbritt

No I do not. If I don't have anything good or productive to say, I don't see any reason to respond to them. It's pointless really and it just ends up clogging up the page with a bunch of responses that mylot does not want. If I have something to add, I'll mention it, if not, I leave it alone.

Hi Mikes! I am a pretty embarased to say that I dont get so many responses to my discussions although my discussions are of good quality and not boring as I feel...... But I most often respond to their responses for sure. I think it helps us in two ways. Firstly, the person responding to my discussions dont feel that I am rude to him/her and they get more freindly to me. Secondly, More I add coments, more my discussion stays in recent discussions that help in getting more responses to my discussion... Hope, my discussions too get some more number of responses after reading this...

Well first off i would like to say sorry to hear that you dont get to many responces to your responces, And i am sure that they are goos quality as well as this one. You know ive never thought about it the w ay you stated it. but does make good sence, i often do look in recent discussions so i see how this would work... thank you for taking your time to repsond:) i learned somthing new from ya!... great responce and thank you. xoxoxbritt

I try to respond to all of them, if I have time, but sometimes, I just don't have a chance. I do however, try to go back over my discussions every so often to see if I missed responding to anyone. I guess I figure it is common courtesy. I greatly appreciate it when others respond when I have commented on their discussions.

I feel that, perhaps, I comment less than people may expect me to. The Guidelines do say that you should not thank everyone who posts because it doesn't earn you anything. I have always found that particular guideline a little odd in its reasoning, though it is quite true that, in the money sense, it is a waste of time. If people post to my discussions and their post needs a reply, then I will comment. I don't believe it is rude (and I would ask others not to think it rude of me) not to write a comment to every response. Most responses are welcome (except those that add nothing to a discussion, of course, but merely reply with a monosyllable!) and I comment on those that I feel need it, otherwise, an opinion expressed is merely an opinion and needs no special acknowledement.

i really do try but it doesn't always happen. if i miss coming on for a few days and that post gets to 30 or 40 replys then i don't really. i try but i don't always get to all of them

Normally my discussions aren't that popular as I discuss less mainstream topics than the masses on here, so I have time to comment on everyone who responds response. But the few discussions I've had that have had lots of responses do get difficult to keep track of and I sometimes don't manage to comment on everyones response. I try to comment though as it bumps your topic back up to the top of the list of discussions peoples friends started, as well as being polite.

No I don't respond to every single person. Sometimes I just have nothing to comment about. They said their piece I might not agree so I might not write anything.

As for wether my lot does or does not want "clogging" in discussions this is what i found "Be sure to rate users’ discussions, responses, comments, and photos for the new myLot reputation system. The myLot reputation rating is decided by myLot users" but this is the only i seen that states what they want in discussions. However, this reputation thing thats going on , would help beeter in this situation if you responded to every single one. so really its your choice, theres no u have to or my lot wants it. it all depends on you and what you want...

You know what I try but sometimes it depends on what I am working on, I will write back as much as possible though. I like for them to know that I take what they are writing about as seriously as ever.

I have never made a question that was so popular, so I don't know. Nearly always, my questions are answered by 4 or 5 people and hardly ever I comment on all their answers, but I heard it is good to comment a lot because it allow the discussion to carry on.

If there are only a short amount of responses to the discussion I am responding to I think they ought to respond to my response. But if there are quite a few responses than I really don't feel they are being rude if they don't respond to my response. As far as myself when I start a discussion I respond to as many people as I can. I don't get everyone but it is not because I don't want to. There is only so much time I have to spend on the computer. I do appreciate each and every response I get on each of my discussions.

I try my best to respond to every single person who responds to the discussions I post. However, at times, I really don't have much time to do that so I just reply to unique responses first then get back to the others when I have enough time to spare.

Someone else put it well if I have something to add I will if not I dont because like you posted in the rules the last sentence. Of course we want to be courtious because we our just nice people but everyones comments on my discussions are read & appreciated:)

I try to answer all of them, but sometimes its hard to find something to say that you haven't already covered in an earlier response. I don't want to answer just to answer. I'd prefer my answer have more substance than just saying thanks. I do make sure I read them all though. LOL I seem to spend more time here reading rather than posting anyway!
