The flu is such a hard disease to get over. It really tears our bodies down and takes so long to get over. I get my flu shot when it first comes out. I know that a person can still get the flu but it will not be as bad as if you didn't take the shot. So how many of you got your flu shot and how many of you think it is of importance. I put this site here and read it. It shows how many people have gotten this and the season of flu is strong and running. http://www.ksdk.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=139687&provider=top

I got mine last fall - and as always got sick for a week. Oh well, better than dieing. My mom is an RN and step-dad a doctor - they insist that everyone get them to the point that Christmas day Mom lined up all the grandkids that hadn't had their shots in the kitchen and took care of it - my youngest son, neice, and nephew along with a couple family friends who hadn't had them yet...

I think the flu shot is a good idea. Sure a person might get sick from it, I didn't, but it sure is better than having the full blown flu. I have not had the flu since I started taking the shot. But I have seen those that have not gotten it and it is ten times worse.

Yep - my Mom has her masters degree in infection control and stays right on top of what is 'going around' she and my step-father both said each year the flu strains are going to get worse and worse, they've seen the trend over the last 10 or more years. Particularly older adults and children whats going around now can be deadly.

Well since I have been diagnosed with my Illness I am forced to have it every year as the Flu could kill me and to be honest just a cold gets me low never mind the Flu But I have to be honest that I never did have it before then and even now they have to force me to come in as I am scared of Injections lol

I am not over fond of injections but the way I look at it is better a stick in the arm than been bad sick for not getting it.

I have had a flu shot a couple of times over the years. I used to work for the state is Indiana and we housed handicap children there and when they would leave and come back from the holidays, they usually brought the flu with them, so we had to get shots to try and keep from getting sick or sicker.

Every year I put off getting the flu shot....mostly beause I feel invincible. An every year (for 3 uears in a row) I get the flu! You think I've learned my lesson? Uhh, I hope so. I plan on geting my shot this year. It's just too much burden to miss work (or parties for that matter), not to mention the aches, the stuffy nose and other inconveniences of having a flu.

I have never had a flu shot ever and i've had the flu once. My kids have the flu now. I plan on the next flu season to get them their flu shot. It seems like each year with the weather changing so much that people are getting sick so much more. My kids are so very important to me so theres no question it is important to me to get them their flu shots.

I know people who have not gotten the flu shot and brag about they don't get sick even without getting the shot. All it takes is one time getting the flu without the shot and that convinces them that the flu shot is a good idea. There is no garantee that will stop you from getting the flu but it stops them from being so severe and it doesn't seem to last as long.

This year was the first year in a long time I haven't had my flu shot. I was being treated for a recurrent sinus infection and they said to wait and wait. Well, I didn't run back to the doctor for the flu shot soon enough. Low and behold, I got a doozey of a case of what I think was the flu. It sure wasn't the common cold. I haven't been that sick in years and it's a hard lesson for me about my flu shot. Next year for sure....Whit

i didn't get one this year. i haven't gotten one in years actually. the last time i had the flu was when i was little. young kids and older people are the ones who need the shot the most. i know there has been an "outbrake" of the flu at a college near where i live, but i not to worried about it.
