Winter would not be complete without Coffee Cake. I remember the first time I made a coffee cake. I was about 7 or 8 years old and I could not figure out where the coffee was in the recipe. LOL Coffee cake is an all time favorite as it is light and yet just a bit sweet. This recipe uses the All Purpose Convenience Mix which you will need to make before you make this cake. You will find the recipe here: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1401738.aspx Homemade mixes will save you time and money. They are great to have already made and stored for use anytime. Hope you enjoy the mixes as well as the recipes that go with them. Coffee Cake 1 egg 3/4 cup water 3 cups All Purpose Convenience Mix 1/2 cup sugar Mix the egg and water together in large bowl. Add Convenience Mix and sugar. Mix until ingredients are blended. Pour into a greased, 9-inch baking pan and sprinkle with the topping. Coffee Cake Topping 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 2 tablespoons flour 2 tablespoons margarine Mix the sugar, cinnamon and flour thoroughly. Add the margarine and mix until the topping is fine and crumbly. Sprinkle the topping over the cake. Bake the cake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Makes 9 servings.

I don't think I've ever had coffee cake but this sounds too good not to try. My Mom loves the stuff so I may have to make some for her too. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Coffee Cake is so good. It is not too sweet yet sweet enough. Even good for an early morning or late night treat.

Thanks so much for all the recipes. I am saving them in my email and I am going to print them. The last time you posted a bunch of recipes I didn't have a printer now I do. I keep meaning to go back in the discussion and find some of your other recipes to copy too. Thats on my to do list. I do know that Mylot will sometimes delete recipes now, I hope they leave yours alone. I had seen where they deleted your carrot cake recipe, I copied it before they deleted it, BTW thanks for best response on that and the other one about chicken. I am geting ready to go to church so I only have a few minutes this morning. I have a recipe for coffee cake and when you make the topping you crush some corn flakes and add the butter and seasonings to that and then sprinkle on top, I think that would be good for this recipe too, it adds some crunch on top. Have a good day.

I wish they would tell me when they delete something. I just dont understand why. Weird. I am not making any money here anyway. That is why I dont spend too much time on mylot any more. I have been spening a lot of time on gather and boomertowne. I earned a $25.00 gift certificate in less than a week at boomertown.

I read once in the guidelines that they didn't want you to post recipes as a discussion. I don't know why because lots of us like and appreciate your recipes. So far these ones are staying up, I am glad. I have noticed you haven't been on mylot that much. I pop in and check on my friends. I mostly respond to a few people who I have the email notifications turned on. I am not even concerned with the money. What is that boomertowne, Is that anything like mylot? Take care and thanks for best response, we miss you around here.

This looks quick and easy. I am going to get them all printed off and have my own little cook book. I will perhaps make a gift of the booklet and some mix to my daughter as she would enjoy this a lot.

THe recipe sounds great, but I had to laugh. I remember learning how to make a marble cake and went to get my brother's marbles since my mother did not have marbles out to make the cake. Kid thoughts are definitely the best!

In my family we dont drink coffee. I assumed that there was coffee in the coffee cake and I had never had it until one day I had a "snack cake" at a friends house and asked her what it was. I spent 20 plus years missing out on coffee cakes beacuse the name was misleading to me. Thinking back it makes me laugh.
