Do You Not Think That Peace Begins Within Each Person?

I do believe that peace begins within each individual person. If each person had peace within themselves there would be no need to have wars. The differences could be worked out. I believe this but it will never happen because there are millions of people out there that do not have peace within themselves. This came in my email. Tell me whether you agree or disagree. It Begins With Us "All works of love are works of peace. If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other." —Mother Teresa As long as we think of peace as the absence of war, we will never have it. Peace is not a political state it is a personal one. It begins with each of us wanting it enough to accept it fully, even if it means letting go of hatred and judgment. Even if it means loving without condition. Peace begins with me. Peace begins with you. Peace begins with us. May you always be willing to choose peace.

Yes indeed I do believe peace begins within oneself Sunshinelady.I also agree Mother Teresa's statment in regards to us losing touch with our oneness to be a great Truth. On the question of "choice" gee wizz, surffice it to say,my personal Friends and I agree to disagree on this topic.I personally have a HUGE question mark over it!Perhaps down the line this may become clearer to me..sure as heck have spent a great deal of time in reflection over the issue of choice and free will.I tend to do the math, and if it does not add up,simply keep my mind open and go with the flow. It's this analytical trait of a Virgo responsible I think..lol Peace of Mind to all is my wish,do hope it is granted. "Have a Fun Filled Day" "Cheers"

We each and everyone of us have a choice and free will. We are in control of our situation. If we chose to we can go through life with frowns on our face and blame everyone but ourselves for the problems that arise. But I chose when a problem arises to face it head on and take charge. Just as I love to live this beautiful life I have and smile and pass it along as I pass people. I smile and say hi and just love people all the way around.

This is an absolute truth in my opinion...we are all indeed connected...we all share aspects of the divine within us...we have the power within us to make changes within ourselves that would stop wars forever...although..the sad fact is that war is a business...and many people profit from the loss of our troops...money is the root of war... We make the choices in our lives...we either chose to be happy or not...we either choost to be at peace or not...yes, I know that things do not always go the way that we want them to in life...but the way that we react to things IS completely within our control.. Blessed Be, Tina

I agree with you the way we react to things is completely within our control. We are the only ones who can take a situation and either be made by it or broken by it. My Mom had her colon taken about seven months ago and at first it was a struggle for her. I have always known her to be a strong women. Always smiling and having a good word for people. She is 86 and does not look it. My sisters and I thought we were going to lose her for awhile because from all appearances she had given up. Than about a month and a half ago she bounced back and she is the same person that we always have known and loved. She has always been a fighter and never let things get her down. She spreads cheer where ever she goes and she does not pass a person without saying hi to them and if they are frowning she makes the comment to them that to smile because it will turn your world right side up.

yes I never thought of it that way but yes, angry people, create wars, greedy people create wars, miserable people create wars, but people who are truly at peace with themselves have no need to do that at all

indeed, peace is something unreachable, impossible.. but very attainable. people and the world can never get what it is for the word peace to linger forever.. its because, a person cannot find peace within himself.. which does have the chain of effects... if we dont have it, we cant share it... and people wont learn form it.. we cannot induce it to someone else... if we ourselves cannot grow peace within.. its really hard to explain, even if you tried to, even if people tend to listen.. it will only go through in the ear, not in the heart.. because souls are not touched, spirituality is missing, emotions are blocked.. and our entity is blinded of the longing we search for centuries.. we look for it, but we never knew, it is all inside us all along.. in conclusion.. we can never have peace, if we dont begin it in our selves. ^_^ take care..

I do agree with you. If each person could than the chain of effects would be unbelievable. But it will never happen because the amount of people that a person is talking about is too many for it to pass on to each and every person and since we are talking about people who are human it just doesn't seem feasable.

Truthfully, this piece is very special, and you know why? Because no matter what they say, no matter what we do, No matter the situation, We all have a choice. Decision we choose today is tommorow's reality, lets face it, We are the peace, I mean I agree with what my friend say here. Every individual have a choice to make. Like the Holy book says "those who live by the sword die by the sword. We have to choose, Peace or War, and remember whatever we sow, we shall Reap

I agree peace comes from the inner soul not from some political officer. You must search within yourself to find peace. If we all found peace the world would be a happier place.

I agree with you. If we all found peace this world would be a happier place. But people look in the wrong places for peace. Peace starts within each individual person. Only then would peace come to this world.

I believe that yes peace begins within because it takes one person to hate another to tell others and so one and so forth. Peace is a personal matter, if we each take the time to get to know one another and see that we are of one person, one race. Then there would be less hate in the world.

I don't remember reading that quote of Mother Teresa before but as all she had to say - beautiful words from a beautiful heart. I agree totally - just like love, peace starts in the heart and works it's way outward.

Mother Teresa was a beautiful person and when watching her you could see that what she said came from within her heart.

You remind me of a quote by Mahatma Gandhi: "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." It all begins with yourself. If you can't live in peace and love yourself, how can you expect others to? I think it's a wonderful line to live by and I try to remember it everyday. Blessed be.

I can remember my Mom saying if you can't love yourself how can you expect anyone else to love you. A person does have to have peace within themselves. If they don't they are unhappy.

Very true, there are many people who are not at peace within themselves, such people try to spoil peace of others also. I would like to quote from HH The Dalai Lama: Responsibility does not always lie with the leaders of our countries or with those who have been appointed or elected to do a particular job. It lies with each of us individually.Peace, for example, starts within each one of us. When we have inner peace,we can be in peace with those around us.

Yes I agree that the peace is becomed from our self. each one in this planet can start it. When we born in this world and become a person, we have to learn that every person have a different. we can't effort to make all person in the same ways to thing, to do, to decide as we like. To understand the differences all over the world I think is the key to keep this planet in peace. The most big difference that we have to accept each other is principal of our faith. We can't bother it in any ways.As long as our faith just for ours.

Keeping a cool head and understanding others problems and solving them collectively can make peace.

Peace is an experience which is rather more experienced than seen or felt. Peace is an internal force that gives you the assurance or hope that things are well with you. No matter the peace out there, if your own inner peace is not there, it means nothing. I strongly believe that peace starts from me but it shouldn;t end with me. Let it extend to others
