Here we go again with the sleet, snow and ice. Prediction is for an ice storm possibly causing power outages in our area. This means no myLot or any other programs on the internet. Will have to wait and see throughout the evening what happens. What started out as a reasonable winter has turned to, well you know what. Anybody else sick of the thunderstorms, tornadoes, ice, snow and sleet? I'm ready to retire to a warmer climate where there is plenty of sun and a nice beach.

carolbee, come on down!!! Is that phrase already taken? I think I have heard it a time or two on some television show. hahaha Anyway, it is nice down here in south Texas, well at least nicer than you are having up there. I am on the coast here and minutes away from Padre Island if you have ever heard of it.

Yep, good ole Bob Barker used that phrase for about 100 years. Sure I've heard about Padre Island but have never been to Texas. Is it true what they say about the men in Texas? lol Thanks for responding and thanks for the invite.

We have had the cold but not to much snow and ice here. I have not been here in NYC long but the snow and crud here is not like the stuff we had in Maine. I am thankful for that but could it warm up a bit yet? Ainge

Good luck tomorrow taking your story to the courthouse. I'll wave my magic wand and make the snow and nasty stuff disappear.

Maine gets really cold. My father was born in either Bangor or Dexter and he use to tell me stories about the cold, deep snow and bobsledding. Thanks for responding.

Your welcome, I love your discussions. I have posted a few new ones including what I have been doing lately. We got that crap here.... See snow is a four letter word. It is nasty here right now and I am so hoping that this will not be around for Thursday. I have to get to the Court House for the story I am working on. Keep Warm. Ainge

I am down in the St. Louis area now. So far, we have been pretty lucky the last couple of weeks. Yes, we got 6 inches of snow in that time frame, but then it melted and two days later, the temperature was in the 70s. I didn't expect to see 70s in February. lol Today it is cold, and we have gotten a little snow, but not even enough to completely cover the ground. I know some of my friends have gotten over a foot of snow in the same time frame. So, I hope you don't get completely buried, and I am very grateful to be in a relatively snow free zone right now! :)

I live in the St. Louis area and it's not real bad right now. Our street has salt all over it since the street department salted much earlier. The warnings are moreso for later is what I understood. Wish Spring would hurry up and get here. Thanks for responding.

Hi. I am in Indiana and we have 4-6 inches of snow coming for tonight. I just took my daughter to work and it is very slick out. We are also supposed to get freezing rain tonight and it is supposed to turn to all rain tomorrow. We are supposed to have "thundersnow tonight". Isn't that weird? I am sick of torandoes and this weird wether also. It is very scary. I am ready to move also closer to the beach but then we would have hurricane weather.

I've been in a hurricane and it was frightening but nothing is worse than a tornado. Atleast this is my opionion. We need Spring and soon...lol The thundersnow was way south of us so we didn't experience that today. Thanks for responding.

I have never seen or been in a hurricane. I do think a tornado is horrible too though. I am afraid for spring to come since we had tornadoes in the winter time here instead of snow. It stopped snowing here right now. We have about 2 inches in about an hours time. I guess we will get freezing rain soon. I am watching the news to see what is going to come now.

If this was a 'normal' winter, I would have no complaints but this has been the wackiest winter I can recall. Warm one day, below 0 next. Up and Down like a yo-yo. Here in IL, the roads are really getting a beating with the countless freeze/thaw cycles. Potholes galore, even on brand new roads. Most of our underground drainage system has heaved cause of it. Like we have a grand sitting around to rebury it all. Thanks to this whacked out winter, we had to cut 1/4" off the bottom of our shed doors cause the sloping slab done heaved as well. Over 20yrs old and it's never been a problem till now. I hate to see what it's done to the trees' roots out back by the creek. Bet they all heaved as well so we won't be able to mow back there. Just give me back the normal winters and I won't rant -n- rave about it again.

We are in Missouri and this has been the very most annoying winter we've had in a several years. And, the potholes are springing up all over also. I can't wait for Spring. Thanks for responding.

Snow on the 1 inch of ice in December - This is my front yard, all that snow looks pretty enough,, but the inch of ice under it was awful... it just finally melted off Feb 4th!!!!! YUCK
Well, I too am sick of the weather. My husband talked to his mom a little bit ago, she is 200 miles south of us, in Wichita, KS and she said they got woke up bright and early this morning with it raining ice cubes!!! YUCK! We had our nasty ice storm back in December, and I do not want, nor am I ready for another one. I am not a winter person. I grew up in southern California. Even after having been back here for 26 years,,,,,, I have not developed a tolerance for it. When both my kids are done with high school and college I am seriously considering moving south... south enough that we don't have this cold. My son is going to college about 4 1/2 hours west of here, and he said it doesn't seem as cold there, and this fall, well the end of August, when it was 103 out there he said it didn't seem as hot there at 103 as it did here at home at 90 degrees with the humidity. (Less humidity there) The oldest wants us to move to Oklahoma.... I'm thinking New Mexico. Just somewhere it doesn't get this nasty in the winter. Think happy thoughts, throw a pot of chilli on the stove and hope for the best I guess!!!

Yum, a pot of chili. Out winter was nice to start. Maybe I'm expecting too much from Missouri although I've been here all my life and know what winters are like. Keep warm and thanks for responding.

How about 85 degrees and a sweet lake across the street? Sorry you're going through a rough winter. We had a cold one too but nothing like that. This week the sun has made its triumphant return and we are speaking of filling up the pool again. The water is still cold though. Hang in there.

It's rather risky to be out tonight but think parking lots of walking places are slicker than the streets. I will be so glad when we are through this winter. As long as we don't get the ice storm and the power doesn't go out, I'll live. I have enough Pepsi in the house to survive...lol Thanks for responding.

Right now it is snowing here in Northern Ohio. We are supposed to receive some freezing rain later on tonight before the snow starts again. I think we are supposed to get about 8 inches of snow and up to a half inch of ice. The kerosene heater is full just incase the power goes out.

Smart thinking to stay ahead of the storm. The same storm you mentioned was suppose to be here the other day but we lucked out. It's so pretty out today, the sun is out but it's only 11 degrees. I want Spring and I want it now...lol Thanks for responding.

Spring is my favorite. Can't wait. We have snow right now but it's not much. It's what is underneath that is unsafe. Keep warm. Thanks for responding.

I am sick of the weather this winter too. Here in Virginia yesterday we had high winds that kept causing the power to go off and on. One of the times it was off for two hours.

That's what my concern was about tonight and that was a warning we had earlier today. I hate being the cold plus we have 3 animals here this week and we'd have to relocate. Thanks for responding.

I'm freezing here, temps in single digits with wind chills below zero. Turned my car on this AM and it screamed bloody murder. Thought the oil would never get up into it, but it did. Every weekend, they predict bad weather, so I try to sell dog and cat food to almost no one in the store. Sometimes they're right and sometimes they're wrong. Take care

It's so cold here too. 19 tonight but the wind is whipping around. I've been inside all day but got the update on the streets when my husband came home from work. It's slick out there. Stay warm and thanks for responding.
