I have the same problem of clutter; however, have found several things helped me. First get rid of any clothes that don't fit now. I'm guilty of the maybe I can fit in it soon, but its better to go shopping when you need a smaller size. Reward yourself with the money saved when your eating less by getting a new outfit. Next if you know it looks terrible on you and isn't flattering, then get rid of it also. I found enough clothes to donate 3 boxes of clothes that I shouldn't ever wear again. The same applies to items you receive as gifts, if your not using them donate or have a garage sale. Use the bottom of your closets to store boxes, under your bed and store boxes in the corners of your rooms in places that are normally not used. Make sure you place items in each room using the space in the best way possible. I have a stack of boxes in my kitchen corner and I placed a pretty table cloth on top and put a plant on the top. The boxes made a nice little place to put a pretty pot.

Anything you haven't used in a year you should get rid of. You don't use it so you won't miss it. Look for cool storage ideas and look for unused spots in your flat where you could store things. Is there space under your bed - could you fit boxes under there? That way you can keep items but they won't be cluttering the place, and creating extra cleaning.
