Hi all, I'm wondering about the new pill on the market.. alli. the diet pill the ads are raving about. I'm wondering if anyone is using it? And if it's working for them? Is it worth the cost? And how much is it? Is it addicting? Does it make you fidgety? I know the ads aren't going to tell me any of its negatives... And is it for ppl who only need to lose maybe 10 lbs? Thank you B

My daughter takes it and has lost almost 20 pounds, she likes it just fine. It does not seem to be addictive , in anyway. The cost is about 50bucks for about 20days. Good Luck.

i am very skeptical of any type of diet pill... I have been working on losing weight...I just don't have very much discipline is my problem!!! Anyways, some good books to get from the library: The Good Mood Diet Potatoes Not Prozac I have decided for me what I need to do is cut out sugar & refined carbs & boost the protein...I felt really good the couple of weeks I did it...but then my hubby & my mother kept sabotaging my diet & as I said I really have no discipline, lol...

Hi Vera, I tend to do my best when my hubby and I diet together and it's a low fat man's diet then. It works for me too, just not as fast. Thank you for telling me about those books. Potatoes for a diet? I will have to check that out. Good luck to you too. B

I was able to lose 24 pounds when I started taking the Alli pill last year. I went from 208 pounds to 184 pounds. I was able to afford it the first time round and then couldn't afford to buy refills because they are expensive to buy so I stopped taking them for two months before I bought them again this month. As long as you are committed to following their plan then you should not have any trouble losing weight. The only side affects I have had are what they call treatment affects where if I eat more than my daily fat intake, then you can find yourself in the toilet quite often or having an accident when you least expect it. It forces you not to eat more than you need to so as to avoid accidents happening. I have 30-40 pounds in total to lose so I still have a fair way to go but I know the Alli pill has helped me. I don't know the long term effects on the body but at the moment I feel ok. I am hovering around 182 pounds. I have at least another 20 pounds to lose before I hit my ideal weight according to my doctor. I am 5"9' and was told that my ideal weight range is 155-165 pounds. I'm hoping to lose it all before my sister in laws wedding in April. I have been struggling over the last month because of the cold so having been as active as I should be. Good luck!

I just bought it today and am going to try it. All the people that talk about the side effects scare me. I got the smallest bottle so I dont waste too much money if I dont care for it.

Hello Betty, I have never used this my friend, because i am afraid this may do more harm then any good. For keeping weight in control i do yogic breathing exercises as taught by Ramdeb baba of India, it helps a lot.. why not try that? Thanks for sharing. Welcome always. Cheers. Professor

I've heard some mixed feelings on this pill. I don't know if I could deal with the drip problems that this pill could cause. When you're out and about all day, the last thing you'd want to worry about is having to scamper off to the bathroom. Not to mention the price of the pill isn't too cool. I would love to see something inexpensive that actually works. That would be nice.

I have not taken alli only because I don't want the problem of having an accident but they do have a website that tells alot of information. Maybe you should go on there. The only real way to lose weight and keep it off is to change your way of eating. Eat healther and I guess in some aspects alli will make you eat healther or else.... but you have to commit to the life style you are on when you take alli after you quit taking it. Or the weight will come back anyway.
