faith on doctors

I was hospitalized for quite a few times already. Twice due to my eye problem. And thrice when I gave birth to my children. The thing that I mustered then was my faith with my doctor. Every time I went on an operation, i conditioned myself to put all my trust to the doctor in-charge of me.
Do you do the same? Or sometimes you doubted the doctor's capacity to help you?

Earlier I would blindly trust doctors.....up until I married a pharmacologist...and realized that not all doctors are really capable.
Now, I do have doubts and ask for a second opinion and do my own research or leave it to my husband....before trusting a doctor.

This is a good idea. Having a second opinion stresses the point.

I have the greatest faith in the medical profession. Our personal doctor is the most wonderful, sincere and caring soul.He has seen us through some very trying times, and for a relatively young man I guess must be forty by now,has the old bedside maner.
My trust has been a little shattered over the Christmas period, when my Husband was incorrectly diagnosed as suffering reflux over five times by fives different sources. On January fourth,I called an ambulance and my husband was found to have suffered at least thirty heart attacks between Christmas and his admittance to our City hospital(we had been holidaying interstae when all this occured.)
Since then I have been left asking how could this have happened so many times.I would strongly recommend a second opinion now,if any symptom persists after a diagnosis..

I don't easily trust a doctor, especially when they diagnose of a disease that is fatal or can be fatal. I always go and look out for a second and third opinion, just to be sure.
Though I haven't been hospitalized after I was born, I do rely on doctor's judgments but it's always advised that we should also seek other professional's point of view..

I understand you. Sometimes it is really hard to accept the truth. And asking for second, third, etc opinion really counts.

I have been hospitalised a total of three times as well. Once, to have all my wisdom teeth out, then for an emergency C-section & last year for a tummy tuck.
At all times I had confidence in the Doctors.

i was only hospitalized once and that was when i was still a baby (according to my mother). but i do go to the doctor for check-ups and consultations when i'm sick. and whenever i go to the doctor, there's no doubt in my mind or whatsoever. i have always believed in the capacity of our doctors here. i never doubt them. why would i go to them if i doubt them right? ^__^ and i think the faith that doctors can cure your illness is a big factor in getting well. positive thinking is always good for sick people. ^__^

You have to have faith in your doctor in order to get good care. Otherwise why take the time to even see the doctor.

I guess i have always trusted my doctor and those that of my children. It has NEVER entered into my mind to doubt them. I guess that is something that came also through their track record. The doctors that i have chosen has always been with very good reputation and very much sought after.
