Will There be a Season Entirely Off the Island???

From what I've seen in the 4th season, it looks like the 5th season might actually take place off the island. The flash-forwards are starting to reveal so much that it's like watching two totally different story lines. Eventually the present timeline is gonna have to catch up with the flash-forwards.

If only 6 get off the island, then we are still going to see next season on the island. I think based on this information we will be seeing the island until the last season of the show. We still don't know if Jack will try and rescue the rest of the people this season, but I think its not likely with this short season.

Well, you are true, only 6 get off the island, but that doesn't mean others won't stay behind. You know John Locke isn't going anywhere. How short is this season??? I thought it was going to be a full season. That sucks.

I agree, there will plenty of people left on the island for action to take place there. I could see maybe a season in which more than half of the story takes place on the island, though.
There are many twists the story could take: the Others left on the islands, the Losties who don't get off or don't want to; etc.

There were 8 episodes produced before production shut down. I am hearing now that the strike is over that 5 more will be able to be completed before the end of the season. The other episodes will air next year, so we will have a longer season next year. This means 13 episodes this year and 19 next year.

I remeber hearing that the writters were setting a date not to far into the future for when the show was going to end. Which in a way is a good thing becsaue i really hope the story plays out and ends without going on for too long. I really wouldnt want lost to turn in prison break where the writers have obviously dragged the thing on for too long.

I think that the show would lose something if there was no island. SO there has to be some sort of Island storyline. I really like the new flash forwards and do agree that at sometime we will have to catch up and the flash backs and flash forwards will all connect. BUT I think that it will be at the end of the show!
