Are you a procrastinator? or not?

I bring this up, because I should be cleaning house and getting ready... and I'm not. I have always been a procrastinator, especially in school and college. I was always the one cramming the night before a test or even finals! And now, I even do it for Bible study. I don't seem to be able to not be a procrastinator... any ideas to break me of this awful habit?

I'm the same exact way. Once I find the "cure" for procrastination, I'll let you know! One of the tricks I use I writing out a list in a planner or a task program or something like that. When I'm done with whatever is on the list, I'll cross it out. I used this at college and it worked relatively well. I liked to be able to cross things off the list and I absolutely loved seeing all the things I could get done. I'm starting to procrastinate horribly again (big surprise there thanks to myLot - lol!), so I'm going to have to create another list again. I hope that works for you! If I think of anything else, I'll definitely pass it on.

The funny thing is, if I put myLot on the list, it would either never get crossed off or I would write it on there every day and cross it off every day. Of course, I don't think I really need to write myLot on the list since I automatically log on once I get to work every day! (Just in case I get bored - lol.) I don't usually have as much time for myLot while I'm at work unless things get super slow. I'm better about not procrastinating while I'm at work. I don't think I'd have a job if I put important things off to get on myLot there! Thanks for your comment. It made me laugh. :)

That is me for sure. I always seem to be putting things off. I keep making myself a list of things that I need to get done and every day I barely scrape the surface. I was like that in school too. I was always putting off homework and studying.

I will try that. A list. Hopefully I get something accomplished then. Thank you for your advice. B

procrastination is my best friend! Haha. Sometimes I feel so lazy to do things that I just put it off for a while and do other things instead. But when I'm in the mood I really will give my all to get it done. But of course although I procrastinate, at the end of the day I always ensure that i do whatever i have to do no matter how long (or hard) it takes.

There are times that I procrastinate. I don't really procrastinate often. I don't know... but there are times when I don't feel like doing anything and I would just tell myself that I can do it tomorrow anyway. How I wish I knew the cure to this disease! lol!

Set goals, know you have to get it done and the sooner it is done the sooner you will have free time to do other things. I can't afford to procrastinate anymore. Stories have to be written. Ainge

I am also such a procrastinator! The best ways that I found to help curb the procrastination is to make a list of things that need to be done. I always tackle the easy things on the list first like, make my bed or put dishes in the dishwasher and then go through the list until I am at the hardest most time consuming tasks that have to be completed. These are just some ideas that you can use to help with your procrastication but I really hope they help you!

Princess, That is a good idea, to put the easiest on the list. I never thought to put everyday household tasks on there too. I have a notebook I use for my data entry tasks and to keep track of my passwords and stuff. I could do the same thing with the things I'm procrastinating on. Thank you, B

I use to be, but now realize life is to short to put off what needs to be done today. One of my friends passed away and I'm relieved that I didn't put visiting her on the last day she was alive off. She was the same age as me and always thought she had lots of years to live. I was so stunned the next day to get a call informing me she had passed away. If its important, then don't put it off. Make a list and do everything that is a priority and don't worry about the rest. This is how I don't worry about house cleaning, as I know it won't hurt anyone else in my family to pick up the broom to sweep.
