Who is your best friend?

Someone told my sister recently that it is strange that her best friend is me her sister. I think that is so silly. We have been best friends since I was 15 years old. We stopped living together when I was 10 years old and we kinda just started to hang out when I was a teen. We are the best of friends and that actually means more to us then siblings. We say Sisters by luck Best friends by choice So who is your best friend? And is it strange that sisters can be?

I don't think it is wierd that a person's sister is their best friend. My youngest sister is my best friend. We do everything together and are always there for each other when we have problems. We are like the bestest friend that anyone can have, to each other. When I have marrital problems she is always the first one there to give me a helping hand as well as support and she tells me as it is. I think because we are sisters we can be totally honest with each other because we are family and that will never change, no matter if we get mad at each other. In our family, family ties is very strong and none of us ever gets mad at each other enough to never speak again. With a best friend that is not family, gets mad at each other, it could totally ruin the friendship and they may never speak to each other again.

I dont think its weird to have a sister as a best friend, since friends are the people who you can share your feeling with, so anyone can be a friend :)

Hi vicki, I don't think that is strange at all. I also think it is a wonderful thing. Maybe people say that because in a lot of families there is that thing called sibling rivalry, which I think a lot is caused by favoritism from the parents. I am actually an only child though. I consider my "sister" who is my ex sister in law to be one of my best friends though. I'm auntie to all her kids, and spoil them rotten. :) Even though it didn't work out between her brother and me, we have never suffered any strain from it and remain as close as we can be. Here's to Sisters! B

I also have a best friend--but not a sister. We live together when we are juniors. As we always do sports, study and do other things together,it seems that we both can understand each other's thoughts.

my best friends are my parents and my family... they love me unconditionally, never turn away their backs when I'm in need, they always now when I'm feeling down, they comfort me in any way that they can, and the best of all, I can trust them with all my secrets... plus I don't have to go too far to reach them... What more can I ask for...

My best friend in all the world is my husband! We do everything together, laugh and play, have fun, share feelings. What more could a woman want! I don't trust too many people to make friends with them, but I trust him and we get along fantastic.

hi vicki. After reading only a headline of this topic I thought my response about my sister beeing my best friend would be surprising. But it isn't as you also are in the same situation:). I think my sister is my best friend. she knows more than other friends about me, I told her more than I told my friends, my boyfriend, my parents, and my brother. There are things she doesn't know, of course. But she knows me the best. And I know much more about her, than her friends know;). We used to be not so close in the childchood, but when we were teenagers we became real friends. And now, as adults, we live together in one flat, and my sister is a person which suits me the best as a room-mate. It's like you said: sisters by luck, but best friends by chice:). have a nice day, jazgottt.

I too can say that my sister (who's my twin) is my best friend but for people a sister doesn't count in the calculation of friends. Without counting my sis, my best friend is male, he's really a nice guy and we know each other since elementary school

I think that it's great and that having a family member as a best friend makes the bond even stronger. My two little girls are 1 and 4 and I pray all the time that they will be each other's best friend growing up.

I treat my bestfriends as my sisters and having a sister for a bestfriend is even better. My two best friends have been a part of our family. Whenever we have family gatherings, they are also there. Though my sister and I are not the best of friends...we are very close to each other and we love each other so much.

It isn't strange to have a sister as your best friend...but my sister isn't my best friend. She's 7 years younger than I am...and we live in different worlds...though we are close. I still think of her as my baby sister. My best friend is someone I've known for the past 20 years and we were at school together.

I have a number o really close friends, making it extremely hard for me to choose a best friend. My closest friends are like members of my family. As a matter of fact, I have friends I get along with even better than I do with my family. LOL

I don't think it's strange that your best friend is your sister. My sister lives in PA and I in MA and we have never been friends. My best friend in the world was my Mom who passed away last month. Now I basically have no friends...oh poor me huh?

My brother and I used to be close...till he met the devil- I mean, his wife. But I don't have that kind of relationship with him. Actually I don't even have a best friend. My best friend passed away 4 and a half years ago. I don't believe in having best friends otherwise. I don't think that it's weird. Some people have their parents as a best friend. Everyone feels differently about best friends and it can be anyone. My cat would be the closest thing to one if I believed in them.

I do hope everyone's best friends are given by God and God is more than a best friend may even a best friend.
