The last my boyfriend visit here, we do dine out, dine at home. Lot of times, we share foods, we only use one plate and spoon and one glass.
How about you, do you share foods with you love one when eating. For instance, you will eating something at home, and then he visits you, and then he will ask some of what you are eating, would you go to kitchen and get him another spoon he could use, or you will let him use the spoon you are using?

I have eaten off the same spoon and plate my husband was using. I also have drank after him. Or if I'm eating something I want him to taste he eats off my spoon. But really bothers me is my kids won't eat after each other but will a friend. That is gross.

My husband and I have done that on occasion but not very often because we usually have our own cup, plate and silverware. We do share our food with each other though. I will share a spoon if I have to but most times we both have our own to use.

Well, I have a husband, not a boyfriend, but I don't think that matters in this question. We have used the same fork or spoon, like you say. I don't think there is anything wrong with it, after all if he has any germs you are already sharing them when you kiss each other. I have also used the same glass as my husband, again what does it matter.
If we are sharing the same food, for example sharing a plate of french fries at a restaurant, we will use seperate forks because then we can both eat it at the same time.

I share food and utensils with my hubby sometimes. I have also shared food with my mother in law (not utensils though). I would never feel comfortable sharing with strangers.

I used to get upset and couldn't eat anymore if someone else touched my plate and ate say a chip. Now I'm easier on that but uncomfortable at home. I am a traveller though to Gambia mainly but in all my african travels I always join in communal eating from one bowl. They do this as family or working groups and I'd say formed out of poverty and of culture. A strong bond is formed with those you eat with. It is a unique and wonderful experience as a westerner. For me I wouldn't do this at home with an english friend. But in africa I seem to get overwhelmed by the friends I have made and can easily eat with my hand in the bowl full of rice beef and peanut sauce along with sometimes a dozen other right hands. All in the name of appreciating my fellow men across the globe and the diversity.
