Thanks. I really need to diet and lose a little weight. I will make a copy of this diet and see if it is something I would like to try and think it may work for me. I just wish I had more time to exercise. I think that would be the best diet for me right now.

Besides doing this diet, I will walk everyday, 30 minutes in the morning and another 30 minutes in the evening. It was recommended to me by some other diet website.

That is great. I am just not very good at sticking to a diet because my family and I always eat together. I would love to have more time to exercise though.

I wish I have your discipline. My idea of dieting is to eat less of everything that I eat normally. If I eat 1 cup of rice, I make it 1/2 and if I eat 5 times a day, I just make it 3 times a day. It takes a lot of discipline and commitment to follow the diet such as yours. Goodluck!

Thank you. It is hard to do a diet because you need to have will power not to eat the wrong foods and avoid overeating.

The cabbage diet is not new at all and works very well. I know others who used it and lost weight. I would have done it but I HATE cabbage. Best of luck.

If God will, once I lose the 45 pounds (22 kg) I want to lose, I will certainly eat balanced foods, like fruits and vegetables, whole wheat bread, no red meats, no junk foods and drink lots of water, go walking everyday and stay slim!

In my humble opinion you need a diet for the hole your life, not very restrictive, and with a lot of exercises or walks, something like that. I wish you good luck.

Thanks for the tip but I am done with diets. What will happen once you start eating normal foods again (and you will be sick of this before you know it!). However, for a SNACK a soup like this is not a bad idea. And besides if you don't get ENOUGH calories into you, that can be just as detrimental, if not worse than overdoing it!

I am planning that after I finish this week's diet I am going to rest for three days and then start it again until I lose the 45 pounds I want to lose. I will definitely watch out what I eat, eat chicken, fish and avoid red meats, lots of vegetables and 2 fruits per day, whole wheat bread (2 slices max) avoid starches and drink lots of water and go walking everyday.

Hi mimatexas, Is there a way I can substitute the cerery? I'm allergic to that. I'm going to give this a shot. Just have to pick a week I can start it. I think when I go get my groceries I'll pick up the things I need for it :) I've been looking for this diet for some time so I'de like to thank you for posting this up. As for the beef, what kind of form do you suggest? Should it be steak? Hamburger? Roast? Please let me know. thankyou

I don't think you can substitute, but you can omit the celery if you don't like it. It will still work. As far as the beef, it's steak like t-bone, beef skirts, or something like that.

My dad did the Cabbage Soup Diet maybe ten years ago, and it worked great for him! I think it was pretty much the same formula as the diet you're referring to. And, I enjoyed the soup, though I wasn't following the diet. Remember, it'll work even better if you're exercising, too. Good luck to you!

Hi, thanks for sharing this here. I will give a copy of this to my friend who, for quite a couple of years already, had been switching from one diet technique to another just to lose weight. And it so happen that she likes cabbage. I hope this will work with her.

This one has been around for a long time. I remember about 10 years ago being in school, and my father did this diet. You will lose weight. But it is all water weight. I would use this diet if I were going to the beach and needed to look good on the sand, but dont use this one if you are looking for a real fix because as soon as you start eating more "solid" food again it comes back. But I can tell you he lost like 30 pounds while he was following the diet for about a month or so.

Thanks a lot for the tips. But I really do not understand one thing. how can you lose weight if you take Day 5: Soup, 8 oz. beef and 6 tomatoes. and something like that? May be there is some tricks here. I do not take beef still it strikes me as I know beef has a lot fat.

You try to buy the lean beef type. You can eat 3 oz in the morning with 2 tomatoes and the soup, another 3 oz during lunch time with the 2 tomatoes and the soup and 2oz in the evening. I guess you won't do it if you don't like beef. I know this diet works!

Hmm, sounds ok for a person who is perpetually trying to lose weight. My case is different. I love my size and my love my non-vegetarian food and all the sweets, and I simply detest cabbage. Plus, I have heard that they spray too many pesticides on cabbage. Cheers and all the best.

Well I need to lose weight seriously! I am about 45 pounds overweight and besides I do it for health reasons not just to look good. I have diabetes and since I started watching what I eat I have controlled my diabetes. Thank you for commenting!

I did that diet. I gave me gas! I bought a juicer instead. It's healthier. Good luck though. I hope you lose all the weight you want too!

I did the diet and I lost 6 pounds. I want to do it again but they tell me I have to wait 4 weeks before I started again. Yes, it bloated me and gave me gas too! But I still want to do it.

It must give gas because of the cabbage, right? I will try it anyway and see what happens.
