I used fresh garlic and shallot a lots in my cooking. For green onion, I use but not as much as the shallot. I think I like the shallot and green onion's smell better than the garlic. But then again, I think my cooking is incomplete without both, I must have both in my cooking. I think the only thing which I can cook with only shallot is my plain fried rice. What I do is just slice the shallots and heat the oil. I add the shallot slices and stir for a while before adding in my rice and the salt and pepper. I think it taste better than if I put only garlic inside.

I think we feel like that because our Asian food is full of spices and herbs, and this is the main reason for the great taste in it.

I love garlic and onion. I really like the smell of frying onion and so does my husband...when he walks in the door and smells cooking onion, he says his mouth starts watering. :)

I love the smell of both and cooked together the smell is divine. They are both good for your health too so I try and eat them as often as possible without smelling like a bulb of garlic myself.

I love the smell and taste of onion! In almost everything. I am not too keen on garlic though as it doesn't agree with me as well as onions!

I love the smell of garlic cooking. I put garlic on my roasts when the are cooking in the slow cooker and it makes it smell so good in the house. I don't like the smell of oinions raw or cooking either one.
