Are you paranoid about giving out your Social Security Number?

Im not but my credit leaves more to be desired. Even if I had an A+ credit rating I wouldnt be paranoid. Its smart to be cautious but some companys need it for a legitimate reason. Some people say I dont like my info on the computer but the Social Security Administration has your number on there computers. Identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes so I say invest in a good shredder:)

I am afraid sometimes but try to be very cautious as to who I post it to. I recently joined a new payment processor like Paypal and they pay new members $25.00 for joining them. They ask for your social security number when you join. I tried to get other sot join because I did get my $25.00 from them in 3 days, but alot of people are scared to enter their SS# online, but I really don't blame them in a way even though they would get paid $25.00 free money.

I would say that it depends on who I am giving my social security number to...because if it is like to a bank or something while setting up a bank account I don't care to but when it comes to giving my social security number out to anyone else like on the internet I really don't like doing that because I am paranoid that something will happen

No Im not... but I am cautious on why it is needed. if its for some companies... fine. but a person just asking... then I think twice.

Now the social security number is no longer allowed on our driver's licenses. I have to give my social security number when I call my utilities for balances, for health insurance identification and so on. Makes me wonder how many folks in all these organizations have access to our information. I get paranoid, but wonder how much we can do and how much we have to trust.. whit
