My wrist

Lately the side of my wrist on the pinkie side has started to burn occasionally throughout the day. I had this wrist broken by a resident when I first started nursing about 8 years ago. I was wondering if this new burning sensation has anything to do with that. I have taken to wearing my wrist brace this past week when I am on the computer. But it hasn't made any difference.

Could it be carpal tunnel syndrome? I'm sure you know more about all that than anyone, but it just reminded me of when my mother and sister were diagnosed with carpal tunnel. They both had surgery on it, and my sister has no problems today. My mother however is still somewhat bothered with it. She wears braces on her hands if she is on the computer for very long.

I am thinking that my wrist hurts from the edge of the table that my laptop is on. I think that the space between my wrist and hand rests so that the edge goes right there. I am going to wear my brace whenever I am on the computer and see if the problem resolves. If not, a visit to the doctor will be in my future.
It is very hard to type with the brace on though!

That is do weird. I have been sick with the flu this week and my head, neck and ear aches and I have a bruning sensation in the back of my head too. Today my wrist is hurting but I haven't doen anything to it. Mine hurts on the thumb side though.
Yours could have something to do with your wrist being broken though.

I was in a car accident many years ago. A couple of years ago I realized that the half my hand and the bottom two fingers were numb. Since then they have lost mobility and the symptoms have travelled a bit to include parts of my arm.
They will go from numb, to pins and needle sensations and also the burning that you are describing.
After a bunch of tests they concluded that vertibrae in my neck are resting on my nerves, which is what is causing my problems.
Your's however, (and i've researced causes for my issues) sound more like either a) ulnar nueropathy (like corporal tunnel syndrome with the ulnar nerve effecting bottom of hand and fingers) or b) cubital nueropahty (nerve is pinched at elbow).
I would definetly look into it, since you are a nurse you probably have decent health insurance. I wish I could say the same.
