Looking back now, no matter what your age might be, if you could go back and change just one year in your life, what would you change.. why? I think I would go back to my 16th year on this planet and waited until I got married to have s*x. Back then, I think I was looking for a "father figure" and approval, I didn't know of any other way to get it. My father was an alcoholic, so he wasn't "there" for our family. I just never knew why I was feeling or acting the way I was There's my moment in time, whats yours and why?

I have thought about this over and over again and I'm always fearful that if I were to go back and change even one little tiny insignificant thing that my life would be different today somehow. But for the purposes of your discussion I will assume that I can go back and change a whole year and still be where I am today. I would go back to my 23rd year and leave my ex when I found out I was pregnant with our second child instead of waiting 4 years to do it. Me and my kids would all be better off if I had but there is a good chance I wouldn't have my avatar if I hadn't stayed.

I would definitely go back to the age of 19. That is when I got pregnant with my now, nearly 18 year old son. His father was and still is a piece of crap; never being a real father to him and it still bothers my son to this day. I would definitely change his father if I were able to but I try to tell my son that it is your father that is missing out on someone very special. Yup, I would go back to 19 : (

That's rough. I can imagine how hard it must be on your son. But maybe, this has taught your son a life lesson: How NOT to Act. I hope all still works out for his future. Thanks for responding

I would go back and change one month after I turned 9 years old. The day my father was killed by a drunk driver. The day my life stopped feeling his breath. Deep inside I changed that day and still to this day feel that had he lived somehow my life and the choices I made along the way would have been better and I better for them. It is hard to explain that after 30 plus years it still has contol over me at times. Don't get me wrong, I feel I'm a good person with a good heart, however....

I would go back to my first year of college. This was the year I was convinced that college would be a breeze and studying wouldn't be necessary. My grades really suffered, as I had learned no study skills in high school. I was an "A" student in high school and rarely opened a book. The first year of college was the first time I had received a "C". It was a wake up call that changes needed to be made, if I was going to graduate with great grades. I signed up for a study skill class and discovered getting good grades in any class was possible. Also signed up for a speed reading class and these two classes have helped me in my life today. I'm considering going back to college and the first two classes would be these two. Its important to do the best you can in college. Its been a long time since attending college, but would like to teach at an elementary school where a good teacher can really make a difference in a child's life.

there are many years in my life that I would like to change however when you think about what might happen in life if you did change these things then I would not be the person I am today and have what I have so the more serious I think about the more I know that I probably would not change anything because that would meen changing the future and at the moment I have never been so content.

That is, indeed, one way to look at it. Life's experiences have made us who we are today. Mistakes in history gave us so many great things, like Silly Putty.. lol So yes.. changing the past may not be such a good idea

i would probably refuse the offer. cause what i am now is something to do with the past. experience is a very good teacher, we learn it every day goes by. if we regret what we learn from the past then we will not learn anything at all. This is like from adam sandler movie and other time travel movies. if we change somethings in the past to be fix surely some other things will go wrong in the future. The world is not perfect same as our lives we should accept it as it is.

This is very true. You can still regret your actions.. and learn from them. But perhaps you are right, to go back and change something, we would not be the people we are today. Thank you for reminding me that history is a great teacher.

I have actually thought about this before and i have thought about a few things that i would like to go back and change...but i think that the main thing that i would like to go back and change woudl have to be that i wasn't so mean to some of the people that i was mean too...because i really have changed now nad people have noticed it but i just wish that i could go back to school and no be so mean like i use to be...

I think that as we get older and look back, we can look back and see how horribly we acted and how that may have affected someone for the rest of their lives... very interesting. A conscience is a wonderful thing Thanks for responding
