What do you use to cook with and put on your food? I use both actually. I use "I can't beleive it's not butter" for putting on toast and potatoes but I use a cheaper margarine for cooking with and I use real butter for some recipes. Even though real butter is said to be bad for you, I somehow think it's better as it doesn't have all those cyclemates and crap in them, yeah.

Butter, to be sure is better for you, it's all natural. I say anything is good for you if used in moderation. Go for the butter!

Good for you! I'm sure your MIL meant well, just didn't know any better :) I use butter for everything. I used to buy the I can't believe it's not butter, and that is OK in a pinch, but my milkman brings me the real thing every Friday! Have a good day!

I use lactose free margarine, so my daughter can eat it. Last night, my husband and I went out to dinner and we had butter with the rolls, which tastes so good. I told my husband that special occasions I'm going to really enjoy and have the best.

I didn't even know margarine had lactose?? I prefer butter, just have to take it easy with it as it does have alot of fat content. I use light margarine, but it's probably not very good for me.

I've used butter for years because it just seemed to be more natural. Besides I love the taste of it and never found a margarine I liked. Now, with the new research, it seems margarine isn't as good for you as we were lead to believe. I use it in moderation. but I love it in recipes.
