Something I just observed since the last update.

Okay this was wierd yet cool. I noticed that I had 3 of the top 10 top discussions a little while ago. Then I refreshed the page and there are 10 new ones. So I tried renweing the page again a few minutes later and yup, new ones once again. Now this is wierd yet cool as they seem to change quite often for all members to get a chance to have their discussions at the top of the list. Have you noticed this? Have you even thought about the publicity your discussions get when they are in that area listed? I love it. Just something I observed is all. Thanks all.

Rozie, I have noticed some of my oldies coming up for air again as well. I like it. I liked the discussions well enough to start them, and it is a good way to meet new people.

Seems they refresh the listimngs of the top discussions around every ten or 15 minutes too. I love they do this now to a point. Gives more members a chance to be there.

Nope have never observed that Grandpa Bob and actually don't often go to top discussions posts. I answer my friends discussions, then its new discussions and ones with no responses.

I love being involved and having top discussions. It makes for great conversation as well. So I look there after doing my emails from friends etc. Sometimes I go other places but seldom a certain area. I go to various catergory listings then answer from there most times.

Hi oneandone, I should do that too actually. I don't know why I just stick to those three, maybe its because of the time I have on mylot. I have also found that the mylot digest is a great thing to have now as I often answer non friends discussions that way. That's how I've gotten to answer a few of yours and others too. :)

Actually, it has always been like that.
Top discussions change as soon as newer activity warrants it.
It is hot discussions that tend to stay for the day. But I have noticed that even hot discussions seem to not last as long.
They definitely last longer than tops but it seems not as long as before - 24 hours.

I beg to differ sir with your statement "it hass always been like that". Now the list is refreshed quite often with a totally different top ten discussions. Even the ones that end up as the top ones in each category in the digest we recieve aren't there all the time. It's a new feature of updating and giving more exposure to other discussions at the time. The reason they don't stay the same as long is due to this new updating and alternation of hot topics etc. Thankls buddy.

I haven't been on here as often, but I did notice that and I really do like that! I have seen that your discussions have prompted more replies so congratulations! Mine however have not and that's ok too. LOL! Anyhow, that is really cool!

Thanks for your time responding also here. I have always done fairly well here with my discussions. I feel that it is due to the quality of my discussions most times. I try to get the point across as well as possible and with as much info as possible for more responses yet I try to keep them as brief as possible in length. Thanks again.

Wow, that's a great observation. I saw many discussions but never observed that. It gives a good exposure to our discussions and can attract lot more replies.

Yeah I was bored and just happened to see 3 of my discussions
in the top ten list. Then after responding to one after I
refreshed the page I had none on the list even though I was
still getting very new responses. So it's a good thing for
all members with this constant updating etc.

My guess would be that that indicates that the activity has increased a lot here lately. I think at least some people like the changes. I do not think much about being in the top anything, I guess because I do not start that many new discussions. Otherwise, I am sure I would observe it. The other reason I am thinking there is more activity is that my inbox runneth over with notifications.

Seems with the newer way of paying for better quality as opposed to wuantity the discussions seem better lately as well. I love the new format of the pages etc especially this updating often of the top discussions of the day.

I do noticed that, sometimes I even see those discussions on other pages as I go through it. And when I check back on it again, other posts replace it.
I think that's the way to give opportunities on other posts, for other potential responders to read and post in it.

I dont check too often to be honest.
Recently I had a discussion about spelling mistakes,& when I checked hot topics it was about 12th, & then a couple of hours later it was third.
I still didn't get listed in the My Lot Digest though.

Thanks bunches. But the main point here is that they now update that list showing many many different memebrs discussions there. Giving the other members more exposure. Mine aren't there as often as they do update the list about every 5 minutes or so. I think it's an awesome feature actually, as it benefits many memebrs as well not just the one whose discussion(s) are in the top ten. Thanks also.

Now that you mentioned it, I was able to notice it. Well its pretty cool indeed. But I usually check replies from my post then reply to the post of my friends as I open my lot. This is probably the reason why, I probably haven't noticed the new set up.

Yes, I noticed it about a week ago. I was surprised that my disussion was in top discussions, but a few minutes later it was not .
I don't know if this indicates that mylot just randomly puts posts under todays top without any forethought or parameters.
Maybe it lets all discussions show up there; whether they are "worthy" or not.
I cannot figure it out.

I think they randomly add new ones just for the exposure as the digest we recieve daily shows the actual top ones for that days activity. By the way, I love the Kinks. Love the name you have choosen a lot. Thanks.

I haven't paid attention to that. The only thing I do notice because generally I go to the top 10 discussions before I go to the other discussions area is that each time I respond to one of the top 10 discussions and then return to the area again there are different ones up there. I have never thought about the publicity of my discussions when they are in that area of the site.

That truly is interesting. I don't spend too much time on my home page nor do I start many discussions. Though I did start one today, which I have only had one response to so far! Maybe I should go to my home page and refresh it to see if it pops up to top discussions!
