Let's go on to something you either love or hate... Karaoke!!!
My first experience of this, was at an Amex Christmas Party, at the China Garden Restaurant in Brighton. There were loads of us, and we were given a special room. So we had our meal, which was a Chinese Christmas Meal... it seemed like we were eating forever. lol. Then, they started up the Karaoke. Well, they wouldn't take "no" for an answer, these Amex guys, so the mike was passed from person to person, around the room. You had to sing to whatever was on the screen too, or they ribbed you something chronic! I can't remember which song I got now, but it was one I knew and I gave a rendition that drew much applause, to my amazement.
But... from that time forward, I loathed Karaoke... shied away from it, even though all my friends were trying to drag me up. I was to appear one more time, at the Pub, one New Year's Eve, when three of my girlfriends dragged me up to sing with them. I did quite enjoy that time because everybody else mucked in, but it's not something I'll attend to participate in.
How about you? Do you love or hate Karaoke. I'm sure you've all got some amusing stories to tell!:)

That's how you have to do it! You've just reminded me that once, at American Express, we had a team building day, where each team in the building had to put on a singing group. I found the same thing... if you looked over the top of everybody's head, to the back wall or something... you could shut them out. There were hundreds of people there, but it seemed as though we were on our own, rehearsing. It worked very well.
Brightest Blessings.

our youngest granddaughter got a Karaoke machine for Christmas a few years back she would have been about 6 or 7 , secretly I was quite excited as I had never tried one , It was so funny , when anyone started a song they would get a few words sang and she would take back the mike , the only one who got a turn was my daughter in law and it was a great laugh as she can't carry a tone . It was a great memories and thanks again for reminding me of such great times in my past pal xx

I think all the girls must go through that stage. My middle granddaughter had one too, and she just loves performing. She's not the greatest of singers but it gives her hours of fun! Lauren found a Karaoke site only, not the one that Gabs uses, and she sings along whilst she's sitting at the computer. Of course, I have to go and listen to her! It's good fun if you have a mike, and free to use the computer ones. Go ahead, my friend! :)
Brightest Blessings and thank you for your input. It's nice to discuss something enjoyable and brightening for a while. xxxxx

Awwwwwww, that's a great shame when you enjoy it so much. I guess your lungs are the problem, huh? You did ok on the online ones, and the beauty of that is, if you have problems on one try, you can always scrub it and re-record later.
Brightest Blessings, love and hugs. xxx

I never have done it. Most of the places I know of are usually pretty smoke-filled, and it does nothing for my singing voice. I would have to be really in a silly mood to participate.

Lol.. I only did it under pressure. I'm sure I wouldn't have done it otherwise. I love to sing at home, or even in the pub when a good tune comes on, but to stand out there in front of everybody and know they're listening to just you, doesn't appeal.
It's one of those things you either love or hate my friend. Brightest Blessings.

I HATE taking part in Karaoke - specially as I know I am a rotten singer! Years ago when we were on holiday Niall was desperate to sing Steps 5,6,7,8 and insisted I go up with him! I very reluctantly did go up but didn't really sing - the guy in charge of the Karoake said it was the quietest I had been all week but wasn't it great I knew all the dance steps! lol I usually enjoy watching others warble but we had a karaoke night at my work the other year and it was the same 2 people singing constantly as no one else really wanted to! It wouldn't have been so bad if they had been good singers but they were awful and loud! Eventually after they had scared away half our customers we got the dj to swap onto disco instead! lol xxx

Lol... yes, I think it's hearing others sing badly that puts you off making a fool of yourself, so you're reluctant to get up. That's how I feel anyway, but I like to watch some. We have a Glaswegian girl in the village, who's very good at Karoake and who gets up several times a night to sing, and also a young lad, my friend's son, who sings Robbie Williams to a tee. I enjoy watching people like that, but the ones who are drunk and act silly... give me a BREAK!!! ha ha ha.
Brightest Blessings. xxxx

I absolutely love to karoake. it's one of my favorite things to do when i have time to do it. I actually went out and bought the karoake for playstation 2 just so i could sing at home with it. me and my husband karoake as often as we can, although there aren't a lot of good places to do it around here anymore. we don't like going to the bars, so we go other places that have it. it is SO much fun!!!!!!!!LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL!
