I have seen different family have different plans. some shop for grocery at the end or start of the month. some are like they buy in little amount what ever they need at any time.I have heard some say it will be less expensive if you buy just what you need at a point of time rather than buying all stuff monthly. what do you do?

Hi there! We buy groceries once a week or twice, sometimes. We can't really afford to just buy when we need something because the grocery is a thirty minute ride away from our house. The products that the nearby stores are selling are very limited and we run out of stock of something that we need, sometimes, we just have to settle with what's available at the moment therefore producing a less satisfactory product usually when it's for cooking.

we usually do the grocery if we have already ran out of supply. in other words, we don't do it on a regular basis. sometimes we would shop for supplies even if we still have plenty back at home but only if we have some extra money. ^__^

Peoples are doing their sopping particularly grocery once in a month though it depends on the earning. Someone is earning on daily basis then obviously he will purchase grocery item on daily basis. The person who is serving they are usually prucase their grocery market once in a month andI also do the same . But there few items which we need twice or thrice in a week.It is better to buy all grocery items items at a time it will save time, money also. pkc3000

I like to buy my groceries for the whole month except for milk and greens. It is better that way so you can keep track of your expenses. But sometimes where there are some good bargain offers I buy things inbetween too.

It usually depends upon how much money I have at a time. I don't have a family so I just have myself to think about. So sometimes if I am low on money it's like a one day at a time thing. I do prefer to do all my shopping at once though because it is far more economical.

Since my residence is situated amidst commercial hub, there are empteen number of shops in and around my residence so my wife gets the stample food RICE once a month (25 kg bag). Wheat flour is freshly ground everyweek at a local floor mill and all other groceries are purchased once a fortnight and replenishment is made now and then. The vegetable market is also close by and hence it is purchased on alternative day so that we get the fresh vegetables. Consumer durables, other materials are purchased before a festival - as we have many festivals here. Right now we are experiencing SHIVARATRI (Lord Shiva' celebrations).

it is better to do your groceries once a month since you know your basic needs . to do this is to mark all your items with a date so you can measure how far it will yield so you know how much or how big an amount would you need for certain item. there are items that can last for two months and you do not have to buy it on the next month. this a process of budgeting.

My main shopping takes place about once a month. That includes orange juice and 14 gallons of milk (that is for both, my brother and myself) and usually 3 doz eggs and 6 lbs of honey, plus some ready to heat fish and prawns. Sure cuts down on the number of times we have to drive somewhere, and thus saves money (and time). People that shop every other day probably spend more on gas than on food.

I shop for grocery once in a month. I plan it in such a way that I need not for them again till that date of tthe next month. I feel happy if can stick to my budget and also be sure of not getting panic when guests arrive in between the month.

I shop once a week for groceries....Then through out the week I have to go and get necessities(milk,bread..etc)..I think you spend about the same, whether you shop once a week or monthly...

I usually buy groceries once a month and as and when I need if I run out of stock. I find it is cheaper to buy in bulk because it costs a little less that way. Vegetables...I go to the market and usually get for the whole week.

Hello dear subha. Usually we buy grocery once a week in the local supermarket. We do not shop for grocery every day. Also if we have enough to consume, we might go in more days and vice versa. Thanks.

Yes, I usually do so. However some grocery's you can not by for a whole month so I have to go every third day to get milk, butter, fruits and green stuff. Some things do not last long you know...*smile*. But I plan my shopping, to save money for lot more fun things...some times I take my son to a restaurant If I feel we can afford it.
