If you are in the mood for seafood, do you go to a regular restaurant or a restaurant specializing in seafood, what Italian, greek, chinese or what ever your heart desires, do you go to that specialty restaurant or just a general restaurant in your neighbourhood that you happen to like?

I live in a small town so to go to any "real" restaurant I would have to make a drive, so I would go to the specialty restaurant. If I want a good steak I'll go to a steak house, seafood...Red Lobster is good but there are others I may go to also. We only have a few burger joints here and finally got a mexican place in. which I love mexican so that is good.

Hi there... As we have a family of 4, including myself, and everyone loves pizza of all kinds, we tend to go to pizza hut, if and when we choose to go out for dinner, otherwise we're happy to stay in and cook...

If I really want seafood I go to a seafood restaurant. Also I would go to a Greek Italian or Chinese food restaurant for specialties. There was also a family restaurant in my neighborhood that cooked their own turkeys in the oven and made their own soups from scratch. The old guy retired, the new owners turned it into a bistro and it burned down shortly thereafter.

Lately we have gone to general restaurants as they seem to be economical, and each of us can have what we want. I had an excellent meal at a Perkins last weekend. It was tilapia. They also have nice Mexican food. No oriental, though. I go to Chinese restaurants for Chinese food.

I'm very flexible. I have a few list of my favorite restaurants but wouldn't hesitate to try new ones. On rare occasion, like birthdays, I normally will bring my girls to Seafood Market. They have all kinds of seafood there. The cost is quite expensive though. One of our favorite hang out is Spaghetti House. They served the biggest pasta and price is real affordable.

For me, I don't really classify restaurants into general or specific categories. I will normally think of what kind of food I want to eat and choose from the restaurants that serve that kind of food that I want. Or, I will be already craving for a particular dish in a particular place, so I won't even need to choose - only one place serves that dish I have been thinking of.

I like to go to restaurants that specialize in the foods I like. We go to Red Lobster for seafood (the only truly good seafood restaurant in town), for East Indian food there is a fantastic place downtown. I have not tried the local Greek restaurant (I keep planning to...). General restaurants are for days when I don't know exactly what I prefer :)
