I know for me over the yrs. there are times when if I hear a certain song, or in a certain mood, and I listen to Music it seems to calm me and relax me, and make me think about who I am, etc. Some of them bring back memories to make me think about where I've gone from, what I've been thru, and makes me realize how blessed I am, to be where I am at today. What is some of the type of Music you like that relaxes you the most? For me, I Love Christian Music. I can just be having a rough day due to life itself, and come home and listen to some Christian Music, and it seems to relax and calm me to where I know I can get thru what I am going thru now, and in time, everything will be OK.

I've always found music to be soothing and relaxing. When I was a single mom rushing in after a busy day, I would take just 15 minutes for myself while I was changing into my jeans to listen to music. It could be a ballad or rock and roll, whatever I was in the mood to hear, and it worked just like magic. As I started to prepare dinner and listen to all the "mom, can I or can we?" requests, I was refreshed and ready to listen. Music always makes me more peaceful and happy. When I craft or sew, I always have music playing too. Seems to give me creative inspiration.

I do agree with you. Listening to the oldies make us recalled back to the past and having certain mood that suit us for the day. However, I do enjoy modern song too, again very much depend on my mood. Music is a must and it is one way to relax our mind, body and soul.

So true... The music that is older can take us back to a Good time in our life, or a bad time, and what we do with it or from it, is up to us. And I agree 100%, Music is a must, and something we could NEVER do without.

Recently I find something really important and that is when you r depressed too much, never listen to the sad and soft music which you can understand, because those words will make you want to cry much more.

This can be true. There are certain songs I know for me that bring back certain memories, and if these are BAD memories for me, or make me feel Sad, then I try and not listen to these songs as much. As for Depression that is True... You need upbeat Music, or music that will encourage you and make you think. For me, Christian music is a Big help.

Yes, I do. Often times classical and slow instrumental music soothes my senses. Listening to old songs at night has a bit of nostalgia in it. However, lying under the tree during a temperate day and listening to nature is the best music I have heard so far.

Great response in listening to nature. I know I used to enjoy lying under a tree as well and watching the sky, and listen to the sounds of birds, etc.

Some types of music, at certain volumes and tempos will actually tense me up. It all depends. I do like Christian music, and at least at this time in my life I benefit most by up tempo praise and worship songs, it helps give me some energy and I am often tired right now. I need that boost and it is a lot better than caffeine for me.

I often listen to relaxing music. I have a few CDs that are specifically for relaxation or going to sleep...they have guitar sounds, piano and synthesizers, ocean and nature sounds, and one has a voice guiding you through imagery like telling you you're walking on a warm beach etc....it's nice. It de-stresses and relaxes me.

I always find it amazing how certain songs can bring people back to a certain place, time or event in their lives. Even after years of not hearing a special song, it can still trigger an association to something. I have always loved "Motown" and this is my favorite music. Music can really chance someone's mood and lift your spirit.

I love music and find that it really helps relax me if it is calming. I do notice however that if I am really stressed, silence and peaceful places help me best. I live in the mountains and absolutely love the peace and quiet.

I love music. For me music is so many things. It helps with any mood I am in, Sometimes country music teaches me things or lessons. Music is verrry therapeutic. I think whenever is feeling down they need to listen to music, it helps my mood, and helps me sort my thoughts.

I listen to a wide variety of music depending on my mood I am in. From Country and Blues, to Folk, Rock n Roll, Pop, Classical, Nature Music and Sounds, Cajun Fiddle Music, Celtic and even occassionally some rap plus gospel and southern gospel and Christian music. To relax I listen to Di Blasio, Yanni, Kitaro, Enya and Nature sounds like soothing waterfalls, Thunderstorms and things like that. I listen to those latter ones all night in my sleep and it helps me to sleep better.

I am not one to listen to music in my house but in the car I need to have it on. I don't know if it is as relaxing as it is 'there's something there' type of feeling. It can change my emotions (both good and bad) and so I can't say how it makes me feel. The only other place I religiously listen to music is when I work out... Great question Zelo

Music is a wonderful outlit for the soul to open and explore.I find peace in mostly writing songs.I love almost every type of music.Of course different moods will make me want to go in other directions.I love jazz though. That has to be the most beautiful sound to my soul.
