The Car is in the Shop

Had to bring the car to the shop this morning. Hubby drove my car and I followed him with his car. I have had enough accidents to last me a lifetime so I felt safer driving his car. The shop called about an hour ago and said the repairs would be around $300. Not too bad considering the fact that a new car would cost us much more! They also went over the car to see if there was any other things that would cause problems. Other than a small leak in the manifold, the car was okay. We will have to save for the repair to the manifold. Hubby said we can just have it welded. As long as the car drives better, I will drive it. I believe the problem with the rear tire is what caused the car not to handle so well on the snowy roads. Tomorrow it is supposed to snow again, so this will be a good test to see if the repair did the trick. If not, I will search for another car.

You're right 3 hundred versus a new car and not much else wrong with it is a plus. I remember when we used to have a part time job in the summer time and earn 5 hundred for a car and drive it off the lot. Now kids start out in debt, too. Yesterday, I drove home from work in a sleet storm. I thought I would have an accident. Don't need another one to go with last August's, still going to Physical Therapy for that. But it was clear as could be when I left home and the forcast was for bad weather after I would be home from my shift, not sleeting from an hour after I got home from work until goodness knows when. I would have called in. I hope you get a good vehicle and don't have any more accidents. Take care

This weather is certainly stringing us along. I hope you find that your car is much easier to handle. Three hundred is not too bad when you put it in the perspective you have. All the best tomorrow.
