Grandma's Job?

Talking with my daughter recently she relayed a cute little thing my eldest grandson had said. They were shopping and she saw some sweaters and wanted to buy him one. He said, "That's grandma's job". Too cute. See my wife always buys a sweater for him a couple times a year. Now he feels it is grandma's job to do this not moms. Are your kids or grandkids this way also feeling it is one parents or grandparents job to do a certain thing? I laughed when I heard this.

This grandma's 'job' is to love her grandbabies. I only have one but one more is on the way.
I can understand this though. I think I thought it was my grandma's job to buy school clothes. Whether she bought them or not, I don't remember. But she was always with us.

Seems it also our job to get them their bicycles. Our youngest asked for one for his birthday next week. He'll get it this weekend I'm sure.

That's cute. Unfortunately we don't live near my son's grandparents so there really isn't anything that he thinks should be done by his grandparents. He has become accustomed to receiving mail every couple of months so questions when they don't send anything LOL

Thwe other cute thing is the youngest grandson snagged a new jacket we bought him recently and it's ripped a bit and he is worried grandma will be upset about it. Too cute. They seem to have learned the value of things anyhow.

Our children weren't really spiled as we barely made ends meet. Don't get me wrong they were well dressed etc etc but never spoiled. Now that we don't have our own to raise seems the extra cash goes to spiling the grandkids.

I do not think I have any job in my grandkid's lives. My grandson does claim me as being "his" grandma, though. Those kiddoes are precious. Maybe he wanted mom to buy him more "fun" stuff.

It has gotten common place now for my daughter to call me Grandpa and her mom she also calls grandma. Guess she hears it all the time from her kids so she calls us that. That really makes me feel old.

It is funny the ideas young kids get. At a young age they so easily learn "associations". I dont really recall any particular my daughter when young having these ideas. I think thats because in her formative years, I was a single parent & did everything.
