Sometimes I always feel that when Simon is giving his negative comments, the crowd boo's him JUST to get him to tell them to shut up! lol. They always laugh after it, and it's good entertainment...he even laughs sometimes! I'm starting to feel like it's a game between Simon and the audience. Who agrees?

I totally agree. I think Simon loves attention so he doesn't care if it's positive or negative. He says "shut up" and then smiles. He also is always flirting with Paula. They were an item for awhile but don't know what's going on now. My husband will not watch the show because he doesn't like Simon. I do like him but he could express his feelings and opinion differently. He doesn't need to hurt anyone's feelings.

I knew at some point he was dating Paula. He acts as though they are still an item. I didn't hear he has a long time girlfriend. Simon is just Simon. He's either liked or very much disliked. He does need to take it easy with his comments but doubt that will ever happen.

Yeah I like Simon too. But i do think he needs to be a tad nicer when giving his opinions.
Doesn't Simon have a long time girlfriend now??
I absolutly love Simons smile. I think he has a great smile!! And I always laugh when he tells the audience to shut up and then comes back smiling! lol

I believe that its a game with them. However, there are also times that the audience boo are too real because Simon is just too overboard with his comments. But one thing I like so much with Simon is that he doesn't sacrifice his integrity for the sake of the audience or people liking him. He is really a very good devil's advocate. LOL!

You could be right there LilyoftheThorns. Sometimes I think it gets a bit too much and I wish that the audience would just let him speak. I know hes mostly negative but he tells it like it his from his point of view and if you notice, all the contestants are always wanting to hear what he has to say, like it means more to them than the other two judges comments. Did you see what was happening between him and Ryan last night? Ryan is funny and always likes to get Simon fired up haha!

Yeah sometimes they annoy me too. I always find myself talkin to the audience..."let him talk!" lol. Like that'll stop em! =P
Yeah him and Ryan are great! I always love watching them "fight" lol

Include Ryan Seacrest. Simon, audience and Ryan Seacrest. I don't understand, do Ryan and Simon always fight like that. And i observed also that Simon is now easy to be irritated whenever Paula stop him from criticizing the finalist. And i think audience booing them because they are one of the fans of the finalist being criticized. and booing is one way to support the finalist and not agreeing on Simon. The audience have the right to react anyway.

Yes Ryan and Simon always bicker, but it's all in good fun! They always laugh about it. lol. I think they both enjoy it and have fun with it.
I just think it's unfair how Simon gets most of the booing when he critizes, but the other 2 judges don't get as much. And I get irritated when Paula interupts him too hehe. She's had her turn, now it's his.

I love Simon. I think the show absolutely needs him to offset the other two. It is great entertainment. He's the one that makes the show. People love to see adversity like his. Even the host and he go at it, slinging comments back and forth and its down right funny.

Yeah I agree. Simon is a great judge, even though he's a little harsh! Him and Ryan are really funny when they are going at eachothers throats! =P you gotta love it! I think they do too! lol

Cowell does know what he is talking about - he may be rude but most of the time he is correct in what he is saying.
he doesn't want someone to win who doesn't deserve it as eventually he will lose money when they sign ofr his record company

Yeah I agree--even though the way he delivers the critism is a little harsh-probably 90-95% of the time I agree with him. He knows what he's talking about!

My guess is they are told to boo. We went to a show one time, that was broadcast over the radio and they had signs that told us when to clap and when not too. I would bet this is about the same.

I think they just like to get Simon going also. they know what he is going to say and how he is going to react by now LOL. I think it is all a publicity stunt between Simon, the audience and Ryan Seacrest and sometimes Paula and Randy too. they love to mix it up and make it a drama LOL.

Yes I agree they do enjoy getting him started. Even Ryan throws in the bait waiting for him to bite. hahaha

I definitely think it is a game or the audience and Simon playing off one and other.
What I wonder is if Simon and Ryan Seacrest detest one and other in real life. They seem to loather one and other on camera and it can be very entertaining.
Ryan gives it right back to Simon!
Although Simon can be brutal, I still like him.
I also think Ryan Seacrest is a great host.
