I do love to start discussions, but sometimes it gets to be a chore, what do discuss, some of the discussion I think are great I get few responses to, and some I do not think is all that gets loads of comments. what kind of discussions appeal to you the most, do you answer all of your connections discussions or only the ones that appeal to you, or only the people that answer your discussions? do you go searching in no responses, today's digest, hot topics, do you go for a certain kind of discussion like you like hypothetical situations, or you like to read person stories, or news articles, or recipes, medical advice etc.

I like discussions that I have personal experience with...like things under parenting or children or sometimes life. I also like discussions that are about common things that many people can come up with something to say about. I also like some hypothetical or abstract discussions it just depends on the topic.

No, I don't respond to all discussions, just the ones that I might be able to add my 2 cents worth in. Some are way over my head, some are discussions that are not of interest to me or have no knowledge of. As for what I do like, that is hard to say as I have found some that do come to me to be of interest that I never even dreamed would be. I very seldom post discussions for fear of it not coming across like I would want them to, I am not a person who can come up with the words the way I would like to for getting my point across. I do like to see the mix of things because we never know if it might be interesting or learn something new. If we got just the things coming to us that we were experts in then our minds would not grow.

I normally reply to those discussions, which are from 'my interests'. Secondly, I prefer to respond to my friends' discussions. My friends are very dear to me and they always come out with their responses, whenever I open a discussion, so I feel I must reciprocate to them. I do not reply to those discussions, in which I cannot contribute something substantial. Some topics are such that I find myself blank on those topics. I prefer to respond to discussions, started under 'People', 'Life' and 'Mylot'.

I response to discussions more than post simply for the same reason. I find it a chore to start discussions :P I do not go for specific kinds of discussions. As long as I read the discussion and is able to respond as I read it, I respond. Certain discussions I will ponder over it if I ind it challenging to respond. I am certain to skip news articles and meaningless rants.

Specific topics that grab my interest are widely varied. The bottom line for me is whether I have something worthwhile to contribute. I don't usually answer hypotheticals -- although that's not a hard and fast rule either. I usually don't answer "rants" unless I have a similar story to relate. When I'm searching for discussions I usually go to today's top discussions and hot topics. Sometimes it's like shopping. Nothing appeals to me and other times I'm in chat-hog heaven.

Iguess it all depends on what the topic is about and the mood I am in for that day to respond to. Some days I am more into certain topics than others. I really don't care for long discussions where I have to read alot because I really do not have time to sit and read through those. I like the topcs that are shorter and to the point. I have a hrad time remembering what all I have read also and always have to go back and reread alot of times to comprehend. I usually answer all of my friends discussions from my email inbox. I have all of their alerts turned on but occasionally I will search for some at Mylot. I like just about all types of discussions though.

Hi winterose, For me, I just answer just about any crap discussion I can put in 2 cents to. If the poster is a friend who has often supported me in one way or another, this is quite an important factor that will tip the balance. For instance, I might not have answered that discussion normally but since it is a friend... Anyway, everything is still under the umbrella of my time. I only have that much time a day to devote to myLot.
